You are missing a number on the first one and one to many in the second.

All BMW Parts are 11 numbers (or 7 dropping the first 4 which refer to general part of car they fit).

Assume the second number is really 17117600697

No, that's not what I said.

I said anything starting with a 1711 is something to do with a radiator on some model BMW.

Oh Ok got you . Yea that's what I'm looking for the auxiliary radiator. But I'm looking them up and I'm getting like cross reference between those 2 part numbers . So I'm trying to figure out can they both be used

When I look them up they look exactly the same , I have a 340i and the part number on that ends in 8057. When I look up the part number ending in 0697 , it says fit the 328 428 and so forth . But they look exactly the same . So that's why I'm trying to figure out if they are the same or what the differences are

How are you looking them up?

Just because the same drawing is used does not mean they are identical

Realoem and others use generic drawings. There is clearly a difference, whatever that difference is or BMW would not have 2 different parts numbers.

That said, it does not mean 100% that the other cannot be used.

For example, in a different thread the differences in the MSport and M4 steering wheel are discussed, even though the actual parts can be swapped between the 2.
