OEM Carbon Fiber mirror caps for my F36 2020 430Xi
Hi all,
I bought a pair of the carbon fiber mirror caps for my F36 https://www.bmw.ca/en/topics/offers-...ror-caps2.html But I am unclear as to how to install these? I looked at a few Youtube videos, but there seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the following: - Do I need to remove the mirror first? - Do I simply snap off the caps WITHOUT removing the mirrors - Do the caps have clips at the back holding them in or screws? Anyone performed this mod? Welcome your advice. Derek |

Since you have the OEM Mirror Caps, yes you need to remove the mirrors to install. There are plenty of videos on how its done but I've never got it to work.

I did this mod, its not too complicated just be careful when removing the mirror.
Since yours are OEM, you will need to remove your mirror (tilt your glass so its facing up, pry carefully with a trim tool from the bottom and make sure it's not cold when you do it) Then you remove your old mirror caps (3 clips, just pinch them) Then you install your new mirror cap and screw in the three screws. |

HI F30bih,
Thanks for the reply. I'm scared that I going to break the mirror when I do this. I've been watching some videos, and everyone says to go slow and nudge the mirror out on the sides. I think I will wait until spring / summer to do this mod. Thanks, Derek |

I also want to install a carbon fiber spoiler on my 430i (maybe find a Black Friday deal). Anyhow, I am not going to touch anything until Spring/Summer 2022 and then book time to get both pieces installed (mirror caps + spoiler) by a body shop.

The mirror caps and front lip are really easy to install. As long as you watch the videos online and follow what they do/say, you shouldn't have any troubles with breaking anything. I've Installed different mirror caps on my 440i, and the m-performance front lip with no problems. I would suggest you save yourself some $$ and just wait for the warmer weather to install them. Pro tip, tilt your mirrors all the way up as they suggest in the videos and then when you're done, you can use your memory seat setting which will adjust your mirrors back to how they were set for that seat memory. But go with whatever makes you more comfortable.
