Should I wait to code?
I was going to code a few things into my f30 including sport+ and SAT, but I will be taking my car into the dealership next week. There was a problem with the moldings that they fixed, but it's happening again.
Anyways, even though they are not related, should I just wait and code everything after I get it back? I know they're not fans of having us change anything in these cars computers. Thanks |

I'd wait, not because of not wanting to offend the dealer, 'cause it's none of his business what you do to your car. It they do a software update while they have the car it would probably wipe the coding.

I wonder if they can activate idrive 6 lite themselves or if I'll have to go and code it in myself. The 2018+ got them standard with the nav package i think.. |

The only update I'm aware of on the website has to do with Bluetooth connectivity. Major updates can't be done with a USB stick. BMW doesn't really say much about the dealer installed updates, and for that matter dealers usually don't bother to tell you that they've done one. You find out that they did when all of your coding has gone back to default. Even worse, sometimes an update removes some coding options. The most notorious is probably the number of turn signal blinks with the partial movement of the stalk. The standard three isn't enough, four or five are much better, but within the last year or so the option for more than three has been 'upgraded' away.
