Is there much difference?

It's normal for settings to be lost during coding but return after. If it is a recurrent loss on subsequent start ups without the adapter plugged in or a permanent loss then it doesn't sound quite right. May be email the developer to let him know?

I have found it only loses the presets when I leave the adapter installed. I left it plugged in to access the exhaust flap opening.
I will buy a separate exhaust valve flap device.
Thanks,
Tom

I used this to code from the BimmerCode App

It gives you 2 different sound stages, personally I think it makes a difference

So my Vgate iCar 2 WiFi adapter came In The post yesterday (£20 from amazon), so thought I'd have a go with BimmerCode.

My iPhone 7 connected quickly and easily with the vgate adapter and I coded stop start off by default and digital speedometer in instrument cluster. Everything went smooth, although it did briefly flash up a stability control warning on the idrive after coding the FEM_01 that cleared after turning the ignition off and back on again (apparently this is common after a quick google).

So what's the best free app I can install for reading and clearing fault codes etc that will connect to the vgate?

Yeah saw that on the AppStore for a tenner .. I've installed one called FourStroke which is supposed to be able to read and delete fault codes but haven't tried it out yet

Any option for 1-click convertible top up and down?

I just purchased Carly with adaptor, haven't played around too much yet aside from look on the website's options for my 4-series. I hate having to hold the convertible top down/up for 20-25 seconds each time.

Is there a code option I can do so i just need to click it once for up and down?

Thanks!

No. If you want one touch inside your car then you need this:

https://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/pro...f-open-module/

Otherwise you can code so you can use your key fob:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=714181

If you press and hold unlock on your key fob and your roof doesn't open then try coding. The second link above gives you an idea. Then you need to code the comfort access delay to 1.5 seconds or so. This will mean as soon as hit lock on your key fob the roof will close immediately. Around 1-1.5 second delay is good but play around with it because you probably don't want your roof to open every time you unlock from the fob.

I have bought Carly and used it to code a few changes to my 2014 F32, all good except for the number of indicator flashes, I want to change from 3 to 5 but changing this setting doesn't seem to do anything. I get a message saying I might need to change another setting in the idrive settings in Carly but I can't see anything obvious. Does anyone have any ideas?

Would I be able to use bimmercode or Carly app to code NBT EVO and touch CID I just purchased or would I have to use the esys?

@RustyBitz cannot remember but was it you who coded it using bimmercode?

What year car? I've found that the option isn't even available on my 14 plate car, where as on the 15 plate car it can be swapped to 5 no problems...

It's a 2014 year car, I had the option available before when someone helped me with coding via a laptop. I've had the software on the iDrive updated since then and Carly doesn't seem to work, I've read elsewhere that it could be the software update prevents this option from working

I have reading a bit through this thread, I apologize in advance for being a noob to coding.

My questions here, is I have an X3 F25, it does not have comfort access. My vgate will be here tomorrow, and I able to code it to close the windows and fild the mirrors without CA?

Any replies are greatly appreciated in advance

Thanks

Edited to add - will paying for the premium app version of $26,99 allow me to have more coding options?

If the car has electric mirrors (it will have electric windows as standard of course) simply press and hold the lock button on the key fob - all windows should close and the mirrors should fold in.

No coding required.

It does have the mirror fold button on the inside door panel, but unfortunately that (holding the lock on the FOB) doesn't work on mine, I believe it has to do with it being US model. To my knowledge this is standard in the EU models, but not with US BMW vehicles.

Wait until your v gate arrives. Then check coding possibilities. It may be disabled as default. It would be impossible for your car to not have a Comfort Access System (CAS) unit (aka ECU). Report back.

I believe close is disabled on U.S. models, but it can be coded easily. However, I had thought it required comfort access. (KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB)

I'm hoping this is not the case and there is a coding work around, as I'm pretty sure my car does not have comfort access (Its a 2017 2nd Gen X3 F25, there are no "ridges" though on my door handles.

Thank you guys for the replies
