Incidentally, here's what I've learned from over 3 years in my current car:

1) 19" wheels are liability and I hate them. The car is much MUCH better on 18" on British (ie crap) roads.

Ultimately agree re 3) and 4). I have always gone for smallest wheels possible on a model so would agree with 1). Bought touring as last two cars so agree with 2).

on 5) the extra weight of the 6 cyl over the 4 cyl does dull the handling slightly and the some would prefer the higher rev range of a petrol engine and trade that for the reduction in torque.

think if you do want more space and better boot, unhappy with 3 series in this category, then 5 series is best all rounder to fit more crap in
