Updating modules

Hi everyone,

I want to update my REM module to the latest firmware along side my EGS,

Does anyone know how long it takes to update these?

Is it required to update the prerequiresite in order to let these modules function fine?

Updating rem took like under ten mins for me. Was pretty quick. U should always do the pre req's that esys shows to make sure u don't have issues. Better to have all modules on same Istep too.

Yes,

But I don't want to update my FEM_BODY nor my DDE. (Since it's mapped)

Does anyone have experience for updating EGS?

And for now, when I try to update the modules I always get the fault message:

A VCM-Update after a TAL-Execution is not possible without a proper FA.
Please open an FA with appropriate VIN, if you want to update the VCM after the TAL execution.
If you don't want to update the VCM after the TAL execution, either deactivate the VCM-Update, or choose a direct ecu connection. [G130]

I tried with connecting with Gateway URL and with VIN.

Both give the same error.

Is there a reason you want to update? Just like Jhnblckwood said, you'd want to have them all at the same I-Step because they are certified to all worth together. I can understand not wanting to flash the DDE.

I wanted to update the REM for the LCI lights to work with coding without wire-tapping cables.

EGS for smoother shiftings.

I finally done REM though, worked as a charm!
EGS is something I will do when I flush my transmission in the future.
