Anti theft wheel socket
Hello everyone.
My CPO bought in February is missing the socket to remove the anti-theft wheel bolts. -Do you know how can I get a replacement socket? -Do I need to take to BMW dealer, so they somehow remove the wheel and will sell me another set of bolts with respective socket? I also realized my wife's car (another F30) is missing the socket, but at least I do have the little box with serial number and hopefully I can buy the socket only with that reference number. I assume this was probably lost by a repair shop while servicing this car tires before. Thanks for your help |

Check out this tool my company makes: https://agatools.com/collections/fea...ducts/aga-wlrt
You’ll see on the website that there’s a YouTube video. If you’re interested in it, let me know. |

If it's not stowed on the panel With the screwdriver then yes you can take both cars to your local dealer and they can match them up and remove them or sell you the proper socket.

Had the same issue, forgot it after a tire change on the wheel and I lost it.
Went to a dealer, they have a kit with all the keys, 10 Minutes later he found the matching one and ordered it for me. No hassle

That seems to be the solution for this issue. I sent an email to the dealer that sold me the car missing the socket and "crickets"

An email will not help. You need them to physically test the right one. Trial and error.
There is a number stamped on the socket. This would help if you had this one. I took a picture this time :-) for just in case

Those aren't impossible to remove without a tool (my buddy had to since he lost his key). You can remove, and just buy a new set.
They are just a deterrent, but can be removed without the magic key. |

I had similar issue but my key broke. I fitted a 21mm ($6 at Home Depot) over the lock and hit it with a small sledge. Couple of knocks and it came right off. I had just gotten the first one off when my brother advised to bring the car to the parts counter. They had a set of keys that they let me take out after leaving my ID. I basically just took the remaining 3 off in the stealership parking lot.

Why not? You are utilizing the dealer's employees; why are you entitled to free BMW labor just because you own a CPO? Would it be nice if the dealer did it as a courtesy? Sure. But the dealer doesn't "need" to provide OP with it because he lost the key.

My E46 M3 had this issue and it was resolved by my dealer with zero fuss AND they gave me a bunch of roses to give to my wife, which is why I have used the same dealer for both purchases and service requirements whilst under all their warranty periods for many many years. |

Just recently I forgot to remove the key from one of the wheels after changing my winter tires. Went to nearby dealership and got replacement key for CAD $20 (US $15). The Parts dept. guy took and bunch of 'keys' to find the match. Didn't take long...
Good luck. |
