Glad this post came up again, anyone running a dash cam in their F33?

I'm wondering if the cabin camera is sufficient for rear video since you can not mount a 2nd channel in the back glass.

You can in the rear window, just don't forget it's there when you put the top down. or you'll end up with a dent in your roof. guess how i know?

I bought one that mounts to the rear plate area but you have to run a wire from the trunk to the inside. I just never got around to it and didn't bother.

I guess I could mount it somehow to the front and have it aim back through the rear window? i removed the rear headrests for better visibility already, no one sits in the back.

Yeah, Im not running a wire. I dont really even know why I got one, maybe hoping to catch something in front of me on these crazy Florida roads. I figured from October to June I usually have the top down so the cabin cam should catch something out the back if need be.

I'm still debating about removing the headrests. I havent researched but where is the rollover protection in these?

there's two panels next to the headrests where the rollover bars pop out. I keep one headrest in the trunk on the rare occasion I have a second passenger (no one is sitting behind me unless they have no legs).

That's amazing, you have friends with no legs? That must be so hard, I cant even imagine.

Finally...a thread “exclusively” about ‘verts!!!...2015 428i here in Jersey...this has been a great summer for top down weather...another week before CPO warranty runs out and my only concern is the reliability of the hardtop...looked both on this forum and google and there have been no repetitive red flags

I’ve had my top serviced twice. Every so often it stops while going up. Right after the trunk closes. A message comes up about possibly overheating, even though it hasn’t been run in days. I just let go of the switch and do it again. It’s been reset and a sensor replaced. It still does it occasionally.
By the way, if you look closely under exclusions in the CPO paper. The top is excluded.

That's scary, can you post a pic of the warning if it happens again? I haven't had any issues yet. I do lube everything in the spring and winter and gummi pflege everything at the same time.

I have to remember to have my phone out before I start the process.

I’m sure someone will contradict me. I find it useful on cool days or nights. It comes with the car. Why don’t you try it out?

The wind deflector works great, especially when I'm on the freeway! Cuts down on alot of in cabin air tornadoes.

Basically, if I don't have it installed, you see all the husky hair flying out of the car. If it's installed, very little fur escapes. So sometimes I run it without so I can clean the dog fur out.

It's always installed and I just flip it up when I put the top down.

Yes, I’m very surprised how well it works. My wife’s hair blows all over her face without it installed, barely moves with it up and functioning. I imagine that when the temperatures drop to fall levels the combination of screen/floor heat/neck heat is going to make it toasty and comfortable right up until December.

I use one channel. But you can get up to 4 channels without interfering with the roof.

2021 4 convertible has been announced.

As the title says. The new one has been announced. I think it looks pretty good. Even with the nose.

The nose is bad enough. The side profile looking like a Mustang is worse. No hardtop, no go. It’s got an umbrella up there. Looks like a covered wagon. The whole thing is a mess.

At one point there were like 7 hard top convertibles. Now there is 1. It’s time to move on. Obviously the look is subjective.
