At more than 20% cheaper than the other very competitive online retailers, I would guess that they would make little profit or perhaps a loss at that price.
Here's hoping that the right tyres are there waiting for me on Saturday! |

Nice one Fat dog. I reckon someones getting a spanking at Halfords about now...
I wait to see how many excuses are given as to why they can't fulfil the order when I get there. |

As per thread, I'm getting my rear tyres swapped on Saturday for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I've just had the fronts done today (MPS4S as well) and was surprised to see a balancing spot on the tyres, a red one in this case. I haven't seen these marks on Michelin tyres for years. I was informed a few years ago that Michelin now claim that their tyres are exceptionally uniform, so don't require such markings.
Anybody else who has MPS4S fitted get this red spot too? |

No dots on mine.
FYI - Kwik Fit are doing fronts for £195 fitted. Not as good a deal as the Halfords but best I've seen. And yes I know it means letting KF loose on the car, but I've gone for mobile fitting so should be able to keep an eye on them! |

Yeah, yeah, I know, but the wheels they are going on are currently off the car so that takes a big chunk of potential damage out of the equation and I'll be sure to check and agree wheel condition before handing them over and taking them back.

Agreed, it appears its a waste of money as there are no performance improvements! Physically, the two versions of the tire are identical. So the difference in design makes no difference in actual performance whatsoever. In fact, Michelin even says you can mix and match standard PS4S tires and the Premium Touch variants on your car.

Heard these will be so much better than my old Bridgestone RFTs - although to be fair these have lasted 25k from new! I guess a can of instant tyre 'repair' is now necessary? Also should tyre pressure be the same as for the old RFTs? |

Just swapped from Bridgestone rft to Michelin PS4s. Seem quieter and a bit smoother ride. Paid about £168 each from Thistlethwaites Bolton (pro tyre). They price matched Black circles
Great tyre fitters with years of experience working on alloys etc. Never had any issues with them |

You won't get much and if they are undamaged and repair free it helps? I'm on my second set of rear MPS4s now after changing all 4 awhile back. Great Tyre. |
