Seemingly trivial things that annoy you...
Shamelessly stolen from another (non-motoring) forum.
You know the sort of things I mean... things that really grind your gears when they shouldn't. I'll kick off with a few; - over-use of the term "back in the day" particularly by people under 30 - checkout assistants that put the receipt in your paw first, then notes, then coins - retail staff who feel it absolutely necessary to insert the words "today" and "yourself" into any question - appalling grammar and spelling: your/you're, brakes/breaks, lose/loose, pedal/peddle etc. - people who insist on sitting in stationary traffic with their foot on the pedal (peddle?) blinding the driver behind* - baked-on skidmarks on the porcelain - shameless plagiarism of threads from elsewhere *8AT owners may be exempt Over to you, don't hold back now - it's therapeutic .... |

Multi story car parks that seem to have been designed by someone with a hatred of simple common sense.
Why have the lanes so narrow? Why make them so contrived to get in and out of? Why have silly low kerbs that can't be seen properly as you're trying to maneuver Why never have enough pay stations?

Hand dryers:
There's no excuse for any place still having those asthmatic hand dryers that firstly blow cold air, and then take ages to heat up, and even then, you'd need a spare 10 minutes for them to have any chance of drying your hands or the ones that "sense" when your hands are there, except they don't really ever work and so you give up Or whoever designed powerful hand dryers but didn't consider that they'd just blow it all over your trousers, or else the wall (Heathrow T5 is the worst) Or Dyson proclaiming to be so hygenic because they use filtered air... like that's going to be useful when there is a jet of air sending thousands of dead skin cells in to the air every time. And no place will ever clean the crud sitting at the bottom of them! Just supply hand towels!!!

Well seeing as this is a car forum.
Women drivers and elderley drivers. In life in general, it has to be people who walk slow in a crowd of people. Knowing for well that everyone else around them is living a busy life and needs to be places. This also goes for slow drivers well under the speed limit. |

People on here who use the expression 'pull the trigger' as in 'I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 440i' or 'I've just pulled the trigger on a 320d...'
No triggers have been pulled. You might signed a contract, put a deposit down, verbally agreed a sale, but not a single trigger has been pulled or is about to be pulled. Thank you. And breathe... |

Lane-hoggers and anyone that doesn't understand the zip concept when merging.
'Make it cheaper but worse' - so much in life has got worse in order to make it just a bit cheaper and to squeeze out extra profit margin. Step forward British Airways and it's rush to the bottom to keep fares cheap. It applies to most airlines sadly. Honestly, how little do we all need to pay to be flown thousands of miles Make it cheaper, but worse, has happened to so many items and services. It's probably my number one gripe. I'll second multi-storey design and air hand driers.

In addition - Poor lane discipline drives me bonkers. People seem to have stopped indicating. Shop assistants saying, 'Fank you' rather than 'Thank you'. Although that might be because I live in Bristol. As previously mentioned, incorrect usage of 'yourself/yourselves'. Starting sentences with 'So'. There are more. Many, many more. Auto renewal - a concept designed by those who dont trust their product or service enough to think you will go with them again if they dont make life that bit easier and take away the choice....
People who read their phone when they get off the train / tube - dont worry that a thousand people are waiting for you to read twatter or faceplant instead of actually moving..... Housebuilders who reckon your new house will be ready in December and then for no apparent reason (other than sheer incompetence!) have to push it back to March - or maybe later if we do get bad weather or such that gives them a reason to be late..... Unions that go on strike on the run up to xmas - especially when its over a petty reason. All in favour of the right to take action and protect your position (I am a miners son!) but hit those that matter not those whose support you really need.... Speed cameras on the variable speed limit section of the m25 - particularly when the lower limit was in place for an arbitrary reason.... A couple of those may be very specific to me and my life currently!! |

As someone who suffers from aspergers, everything annoys me, and I mean everything. Daily life is a constant battle not to lose my temper with things that others wouldn't give a second thought.

And on the fixed speed sections of the A9, where the limit is 60mph, they've imposed a "trial" speed limit for HGV's of 50mph. WTF?? That just makes everyone else pile up behind the trucks like they used to, and take stupid overtaking risks. What fucktard thought that one up....?

Reading about it, and whilst I truly detest the lack of understanding and stereotyping that a label like ASD brings, it made me think that we're all somewhere 'on the spectrum' to a degree. I know I am, as is my father, but we've all managed to stumble our way reasonably successfully through life. |

What grips me is the amount of people who bring nothing to society.
All they do is claim benefits, cause bother for hard working, decent people, and end up costing us money in one way or another. Certain places should have high brick walls built around them, then filled with water. |

Packets of crisps.
The rustling of the packet and the crunching of the crisps being eaten, really hate it puts me totally on edge, that sometimes I have to walk away before i lose it. It's not just crisps other sounds have a similar effect but crisps are the worst. |

I've noticed in the last couple of years that it's not just 'Fank you', but 'Fank YOW' that is prevalent in certain parts of bristol innit!
