I have a question about the trunk antenna that is part of the kit.
What is the rear trunk antenna for?
Sorry I'm not very familiar with the BMW CA system.

Also, I'm wondering why a custom module would be needed as opposed to just wiring the antennas and the door handles to FEM and then coding it.

Ideally I would have liked it to be a fully OEM solution, as I did with the rear-view camera I bought from you guys. No complaints though; what you guys are doing is amazing. I'm just curious why you didn't stick to a fully OEM retrofit.

If you want to be able to open your trunk by pulling the trunk handle when your key is in your pocket this antenna must be installed. Otherwise the car will not "see" the key and won't let you open the trunk without unlocking the car first.

There are many reasons why we do it our way:
- we made it affordable
- we gave you flexibility to order any number of door handles (even one)
- no coding, 100% plug and play
- pretty much no difference in operation between our system and the factory installed CA
- FEM doesn't have to be replaced (if the car didn't come with CA then FEM does have the CA functionality)
- we can use most of the parts from our kit in different bmw models
and so on...

That sounds great, thanks for the reply! So I assume I'll be able to fold and unfold the top on my car using the key fob like on a factory CA.

You can close windows, sunroof and fold mirrors. To be honest we haven't tested if closing/opening the roof top in convertibles will work as well. To be confirmed.

Shipping by March 10. Installation video should be ready hopefully in around a week or so.

I'm interested in getting a price for two and four doors for an F34. Also it would be great to get an idea of what your soft close kit might cost please.

Together these two retrofits might be the most useful update for those of us who have kids already or in the future.
