Hello bimmers!
someone came to me with his F30 316 2013, a local place tried to retrofit a m sport steering wheel for him.
they claimed that they have to CODE the steering wheel in order to work out?
when he left the place he found that the cruise control is not working, its says when pressed "crusie control cannot be activated"
He went to the place and they couldn't help him, then he found my page on FB and told me the story.
when i was onnected to the car i found that there is a wrong FA had been written to the car when i compared it to the original FA using VIN decoder.
they coded Active cruise control, which is different than the normal curise control with braking function, esys couldn't VO code any module untill i deleted the ACC from the SALAPA
i VO coded ICM KOMBI CIC FEM with a great hope that it will work, but no it didn't work out, then tried to code whole ECU tree without DME and the cruise control is still not working yet!!
When i tried to code the speed limit it shows an error message "Speed limit malfunction"
i wanted to help that guy out but unfortunately i couldn't do anything.
- I double checked the plugs of the steering wheel nth seems abnormal except when the screwdriver touches any metal surface inside the steering wheel the horn is activated.
attached below the pictures of the steering wheel and everything you might need.
i can send all the FAs before and after.
we really appreciate your help guys.
the steering wheel is bought from ebay btw

Sometimes that occurs when dependent ECU's are on different firmware level.

Well, my power supply will arrive soon, do you just suggest to flash the dependant ECU's to the latest istep?

Yes. Although there are never release notes, updates usually come with functionality improvements. These can include smoother idrive menu transitions as well as quicker shift points.

Caveat: Rarely, they can lead to loss. One F2x/F3x/F8x exception I know:

If you have newest Fem_body firmware, you lose option to code soft-blinker #:

Or,

If the car did not have a MFSW, the kombi blocks the activation of CC.

Late reply but is for people with the same problem.

F20’s have this problem 2
