its all in our heads because we want our cars to be like the M3/M4. I'm looking at some before and after pics in this thread and even in pics with one side changed its hard to tell. This is an extremely subtle mod.

Agreed it is a small change.
But typically can be had for cheap.
Sometimes spending a few bucks and seeing a small change is worth it and can be rewarding.

Yep. Its arguably the best $50 mod for the F30.

I changed after having the same car as mine behind me in traffic, in the rear view the chrome surround was glinting and I just thought it would look better if it was black. Also a nicer look when you view more from the side - where there is more chrome visible by the headlight.

It might appear subtle, but it's very obvious when it's done.

I'm looking at replacing my grills and I'm driving on 400m's. I'm wondering if my car looks "aggressive enough" for dual slats (im having the window trim redone in matte black as well)

I feel like you almost need 19's or 403's to a minimum to get the cohesive look. Maybe I'm over thinking it.
I'm trying to figure out what your car is. I'm really confused. There's all kinds of design elements and model cues going on here. I'm thinking it's a 2013-2015 reasonably base 2.0l 320 or 328 with a whole lot of spare parts judging from the grill, window trim and tailpipe.

I have a couple of ideas if you're interested. Try the 437M or the 666M Black rims. Black out the grill, single slat. Black out the window moldings. Cut the rear diffuser. Tint the windows.

I think the M Performance badge is kinda out of place personally because that's a very specific model and those that know them know this isn't one, but the M on the front fender works if you're going for the M Sport look which for the most part looks like what you went with.

More personal opinions: The lip works, nose clip and skirts all work. I like the chrome tips. It's interesting how you retained the headlight washers from the M Sport but it doesn't seem to have the parking sensors or the HUD of the M Sport. Are the washers functioning?

I'm soooo confuzzled. But those few suggestions I think would clean it up nicely. Neat project.

Way better! Even the diffuser works now that you changed out the rear pipes. Nice!

Edit: Yeah... those wheels really are wicked awesome. Definitely one of my favorite.

How did you remove the fog lights, and was it worth it cost wise?
Thinking of doing this to a leased vehicle.

Took about 20 minutes per side. I did it with the car still on the ground and was able to access the fogs through the inner wheel wells.

I left all the pre-existing wiring in place and just zip tied the fog light electrical within the inside of the bumper. I didn't want to strip everything out in case I decide to put the fog lights back in.

Oem grills ran about $75 for the pair.

Fun seeing the car in person. I knew something was off. You must have your winter wheels on now. Those awesome wheels in the photo weren't on it.

You got that right. The 400m's definitely don't meet the bar the 437m's have set.

I went single mostly because the originals were single. I went with OEM parts from ECS. Gloss black. I think it looks good. I now need to do the IND reflectors. Just ordered.

I figure if I ever want a different look in the future I can go w/ dual slats for a change up.

Curious to how you fixed your front license plate? New bumper? Or filled in the holes + repaint?

Had bumper repainted. To be honest got tired of the "off to the left" look and ended up screwing it back in the center.

Gotcha. It's probably cheaper to fill in the holes and repaint, but I wanted to make sure. Good to know peoples actual experiences as data. Thanks!
