Mine has been great so far. But everything mechanical breaks eventually. The best advice I can give anyone about a hardtop convertible is this: If any of your window regulators appear to be failing at all, replace them ASAP, do not delay, and do not open the top until you get the window regulator working again.

If a window cannot properly open or close, the top cannot be opened or closed, and the repair can be far more complex if the window regulator has fully failed.

And there is a 2025 Z4 manual in the "M40i" (man I hate the new nomenclature) i.e. the 6 cylinder. I've just ordered one to replace the E46 325Ci 5-speed I've had and loved for 18 years, but I'm fortunate to be able to step my game up. Yes I know the manual is slower than the automatic but 4 seconds to 60 is plenty for me and I don't track.

I'm happy they went back to the softtop on the 4, folding hardtops take a huge amount of trunkroom and can be a nightmare expense if they fail outside of warranty. If they offered a manual convertible softtop 4, I would have considered it, but you cannot configure one (manual in base M4 hardtop only)

As the thread starter, I have to admit that BMW has made a variety of attractive cabriolets (convertibles) over the years. If I won the lottery, I would definitely be tempted to add one. Given my current circumstances, I'll just continue to admire them from afar.

Oh, and if the F33 4 series is a contender, surely its more powerful F83 M4 convertible should be in the mix as well.
