I daily drive an '06 A4 2.0T quattro. With 65k on the clock, i'd say go for the BMW. The best part of this car is the 2.0T motor. Everything else is overpriced VW. The wife drives a 328Ix, the engine doesn't compare to the 2.0T. The AWD seems to be even. Wait for the turbo four from BMW before you make your decision, the specs make it seem like a great little engine. The audi feels nimble, on its toes like a sprinter where the BMW feels like a distance runner, sure footed and planted. Both have been through 12" snowfalls and have been a blast in the snow. Drive both, but read on the forums. My next purchase will be another BMW.

Comparing your '06 A4 to the 2009+ B8 A4 is like comparing the E90 to the Isetta. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but the difference between B7 and B8 chassis is huge (with the latter being MUCH better of course).
