least annoying way to interface with idrive for destinations?

I have the scribble pad but i'm left handed so that doesn't work for me. I've tried voice commands but thats annoying. I sometimes use the connected app if i remember to input a destination.

What if, for instance, I just want to go to the nearest "best buy" or want to ensure traffic is good when I leave work and want to go "home"... how do I painlessly enter this into navigation?

Well you pretty much summed it up yourself, connected app or voice recognition.

If i were you i'd keep scribbling with my right hand, i'm right handed but i can sure as hell produce some letters that my iDrive can recognise with my left. It doesn't have to be pretty! Imagine all the right handed brits, you can't be the only one with this problem. But it sure as hell seems so!

you can store your home address (i suggest something close to your house so if your car gets stolen they dont show up at your house) and then pair it to a quick jump button on the dash.

for the other destinations, use connected app and send directions to car. while in car, there really isnt a fast way other than to search in the nav.

but based on your second comment on your own thread, you are not a very patient person so maybe sell the car and buy one that has carplay or android auto

I hate the system and have complained on my own forum threads.
IF I am able to input a destination AND IF the BMW system recognizes it then the damn thing gets me lost and takes a wonky route. Most worthless piece of tech EVER! I will never spend money on a car nav again especially BMW.
I use Waze.
