Removal of phone cradle F15 X5

Thanks to this forum, I ordered a piece from my local BMW dealer ($26 AU), and removed the useless phone cradle from my wife's X5.
Plenty of information on here and other forums on how to do this.

Took longer to walk down the hill get my head torch, and back up than removing the cradle.

Addition to what has been posted. To remove the screw in the fan area (mine was without fan), use screw driver to lift the louvered section of the original piece. This pops straight up, and off, and the last screw is revealed.

Head torch and flat head screw driver are essential in viewing and unclipping the connectors. Each was different. Take your time, and work it out before pulling. They came out easily once unclipped.

RealOEM part number for F15 X5

Cheapest mod for my BMW so far!!

Cheers,

Ken

Here are some photo's of the centre console without the phone cradle, and the cradle out of the car.

I would say gives about 600ml more space in the storage compartment. SWMBO can easily fill it up with additional make up!!

Cheers,

Ken
