a custom map anywhere else costs the same , a useless intake from venturi or else costs twice of that .

With mhd you have many ots options for the stock turbo .
the monitor option is great aswell .
i also had to buy a new license when i changed cars from N55 to B58
havent had any regrets

Yes, ended up biting the bullet and got MHD , as I had already purchased the MHD WiFi adapter. Works like a charm, very quick and easy once the vin is locked to license. I was able to dial back the burbles the were programed with previous tune and now have control.

I did have one surprise, when I started the car, it was 3 times louder and raspy and idling high for 30 seconds or so, compared to previous tune.(my girlfriend even heard the difference just moving car into garage, "why does your car sound like that?") Then I remembered there was an option for cold start noise reduction and realized that was probably enabled previously. Loaded again with that enabled and back to smooth, reasonably quiet start.

Loading new maps takes under 10 seconds with Wifi adapter.
Also did a couple of log runs today which is straight forward and easy to pull into datazap.

Now Im already plotting how to utilize some of the ethanol maps, and what hardware I might want to add. So much for telling myself, "I don't need anymore power than this". I will say, that around where I live, its hard to find roads I can safely push the car past 6k revs in 3rd and 4th gear. Hitting 6500 rpm at WOT in 3rd on the log runs today was pretty scary on an out of the way industrial street.
