I've seen a video of a 328 with a JB4 passing a stock 335i, Burger Tuning had posted it on their instagram account some time ago.

Well why wouldīnt it; a nice power bump and substantially less weight wins both in theory and in reality. Donīt understand whatīs so hard for some to believe about it, as if its a McLaren P1 it has to beat. My story is more unbelievable than anything yet thatīs how it went down. Had I had a tune (Dinan, JB4 or JB24) Iīm pretty sure I would actually leave the guy way behind and not just stay ahead.

Dinan stage 1 f30 328xi n20 has near equal specs to an mppk f30 335xi. 311/328 vs 320/332...Also real world it's gets better gas mileage almost all the time. I'm assuming that's why BMW detuned the 328 so much as its evenly matched with the 335.
Only down side is that n20 can't be tuned any further without a rebuild.

Having driven both I can say that the 328 stage 1 is smoother and faster than the Mppk 335 and it's gets 25mpg or better driving hard compared to the 335 that would average 20 to 22mpg. Also the lighter engine works a lot better with the crappy stock Xi dampening on these cars. Either way a coil over or at least a spring kit is necessary to get good control over both models.
.

My 2 cents get a stage 1 340xi or save up for an m3, the 328 beats the 335 in all other aspects.

My understanding is that, optioned the same way, the 328 is ~110 lb. lighter than the 335 due to the smaller engine. Does that mean a tuned 328 would be faster that a stock 335 in 0-60 time? If so, does anyone have an estimate of the impact that a hundred pounds of weight has on that time?
I finally got around to running the 328i xDr Simulation with varying weights from unladen +/- 200 lbs in 40 lb increments to sort out the effect of weight on the 328i xDr's acceleration profile. To save room I'll post the graphs on the 1/4 mile drag thread for reference, but it appears in the simulation stock runs a 0-60 mph time at 5.575 sec, +200 lbs at 5.745 sec, -200 lbs at 5.410 sec.

Randomly choosing the 14.0 sec mark in the 13-15 sec interval graph, the stock has a speed of 97.7 mph, +200 lbs 95.6 mph, and -200 lbs 99.8 mph.

Dinan Stage1 N20 looks faster on paper than N55 stock but in real world testing, me and my friends live to test each variable side by side.
Dinan stage1 X3 28i (MWG) is not faster than X3 35i
Dinan stage1 X3 28i (MWG) is not faster than X3 28i (EWG) w/ Racechip stock setting
X3 28i RaceChip on S3 or S4 is as fast as the X3 35i stock
X3 28i Racechip on stock setting is not faster than X3 35i

Very interesting. This matches my experience measuring 0-60 times.

Do you know by any chance where Enzo and/or GSR ECU Stage 1 are relative to the 28i piggybacks and the 35i?

Dinantronics N20 (peak measured)
HP: 312
TQ: 330

Stock N55 (peak measured)
HP: 303
TQ: 331

I have a 328xi with dinan stage 1 and I can tell you from experience that it significantly increases performance. I have a GPS 0-60 app called FastR and I can get 4.95 seconds on my run which I think is comparable to the stock 335.
