Its impossible to pass NYS emissions testing with a catless downpipe. The vehicle must be hooked up and communicating with Albany to pass.

Even if you get a bootleg sticker...

How do you expect to get your vehicle registered next year when Albany has no record of you passing emissions?

Not. Happening.

They are talking about catless DP, so you would not get the 'ready' without a workaround. I thought maybe 6 months ago someone said they were able to get cat monitor 'ready' by using a angled O2 spacer with mini cat and driving gently for the cycle. Forgot which thread it was in.

I'm telling you... someone with MHD and Catless passed in NYC... it's in one of these threads... just set it on stock/ still installed and do the 50 miles...click an option for the cel light?... I don't think they charge if it don't pass... cause I set to stock and didn't drive the whole 50 miles and it didn't pass and they didn't charge me knowing I'll be back... worth a try...

The person who claimed they did that used the angled O2 spacer with minicat IIRC. They didnt just do a drive cycle with a catless DP and get the 'ready'. The CEL suppression option at flash time has zero impact on emissions monitors.

No idea what this is supposed to mean, but you should never put a angled O2 spacer or mini cat or anything on the primary O2 sensor. Not only is it not used for emissions monitors but it will throw off AFRs and fuel trims, and is potentially dangerous.

In NY, I believe you get a max of 1 monitor "not ready", but not failed with a CEL. The tune can keep the CEL from coming on, but it won't set the monitor to ready. That part is explicitly illegal in all states. As long as you have no more than 1 monitor in the not ready state, and no CEL you should be able to pass. This is the same in MA.

This is basically what Logicoeur said above. But again, you will only pass if you can have the cat monitor not ready. The flash option to suppress the CEL does not affect emission monitors.
