Agency power vs BMS intake for b58

Hi guys,

So i'm looking around to get a intake for the car. Just want to hear the turbo spool and the "put a smile on my face overtime" wousshh.. Ok blow off valve haha

So they are 2 on the market, no 3, eventury but man, out of price for carbon pieces.

Anyone here have installed one of those and could give some review? what about the sound? to much? not loud enough? There is a difference in pricing though.. Agency power is 275$ + shipping. BMS Intake is 179$ + shipping.

Waiting for your news!

I think most people go with BMS because the heatshielding on the AP intake heat shield was only made for the m240i. It doesn't fit the f3x b58 engine bay properly.

Yeah I know it doesn't fit... but still on the BMS there is no heat shield at all?

I've read that people were disappointed with the BMS intake as you don't hear it enough.. true? Videos on YouTube shows you don't really hear turbo spool and hear the blow off.

Yeah, just saying at that point it's pretty much the BMS intake for $100 more.

I personally don't think intakes make a big sound change. It may require a bigger filter than what's currently offered to see a big difference. You will hearing more intake suction/turbo whistling at low rpm with the windows down but not a lot of blow off noises or anything from my experience.

The poster above is incorrect. The AP heat shield fits fine in the 340i. I installed mine with no issues at all. It's twice as loud as the BMS intake and the blow off sound is much more apparent. The AP deletes the resonator while the BMS retains it. The AP is worth it.

I can confirm this 100% as well. Zero issues with fitment and install took about 20 mins. After reading countless threads about how disappointed people were with BMS (quieter than expected) I went with AP and couldn't be happier. Worth the extra $ IMHO

We offer both.

Agency Power is louder. If you are looking for a loud intake go with AP, if you want a mild increase go with BMS

How does the AP intake compare to the aFe Power (stage 2) intake?

I currently have the BMS intake, and it leaves a lot to be desired. Way too quiet and causes CELs.

In my personal opinion Agency Power sounds better than AFE.

Anyone have videos/sound clips of the Agency Power intake? Only saw one on YouTube from a m240i.

It will be the same sound as the 240i. They share the same b58.

The BMS B58 intake reuses the factory plastic airbox bottom and its very well designed inlet system for the best of both worlds. Entire intake installs/removes in less than 5 minutes and I've never heard of anyone having code problems with it.

I see you sell the PURE turbo upgrade for the B58... Does this only really work with a JB4 tune? I already have a Dinan Stage 1 tune so not sure how this would extract the PURE turbo benefits.

You can add the pure Turbo with Dinan but you wont be making any extra power since you are not able to raise boost with Dinan stage 1.
