Rear diffuser exhaust tip setup
My wife owns a 2016 340i Msport. My daughter ordered her a rear diffuser and I believe wrong part was received. The opening for exhaust tip is wider than the one on her car. Looks like it is setup for 4 exhaust tips instead of 2. What are my options to get 4 exhaust tips back there? Any advice or idea is appreciated. Thanks

okay then you'll need to decide what is more important...quad tips or a diffuser that matches your current dual exhaust tips. If you want to keep what you have (exhaust currently) there are many choices when it comes to an MPerformance style rear diffuser for your 340. If you are after a quad exhaust setup we'll have to wait for others to jump in. Good luck!!
I guess it's existing tips dictate new diffuser or new diffuser dictates new tips OR do nothing Last edited by chenry; 09-13-2019 at 11:05 PM.. |

If it’s the BMW m-perf diffuser then the exhaust cutouts should match your tips exactly. The only F30 (ok F80) with quad exhaust is the M3/M4, in which case the diffuser you got probably won’t fit anyway if that’s what was ordered by mistake.

The stamps on diffuser says its for a f30 and f31. It appears that the diffuser will fit when I line it up. The exhaust tip comes out on one side of opening looking like there's room for another exhaust tip. Just wondering if there's something out there to convert this to a quad tip setup. Thanks

It looks like I'll have to order another diffuser. Diffuser fits. Just doesn't look right. I've seen 2 exhaust tips on one side before. I haven't been able to find a conversion kit to change dual tip setup to quad tips. Thanks |

Ask your daughter where she bought it from... Your option for dual tips each side - IF the cutouts are centered over your muffler tail pipes, is to weld on aftermarket dual tips that work for your app. Not personally familiar with any

A lot of aftermarket diffusers are made for quad tips. Some people replace their F30 outlets with quads for that (fake) M-look. I'm biased when it comes to that, but I digress. Meisterschaft makes a quad tip for the F30 but another rear diffuser is quite literally 1/20th of the price.
Unless you want to cut your factory muffler and weld/clamp quads on, a new diffuser is your best bet. |

A lot of aftermarket diffusers have car type stamped on inside - doesn't make it OEM (This is not an OEM diffuser, definitely aftermarket)
Ask your daughter where she bought it from... (China) My daughter bought this to surprise her mother. She said it took 6 or 7 weeks to arrive. I'll see what it takes to return diffuser and get the right one. I prefer the dual tip look myself |
