The RTTI on my 2017 X5 NBT Evo works great, but Waze is superior in many ways. Without Carplay, I agree, it's a pain to use, but if you have Carplay, you should definitely be using Google Maps or Waze.
Waze seems to have much more accurate traffic information like real time speeds. I'd rather be going through a 10mph red zone than a stop and go 5mph zone. Waze also has a speed trap warnin. |

I have RTT enabled until 2021, neat feature. I do miss waze on the main screen a little but it runs better on the phone. BMW doesn't recognize my last 7 of the vin for any update, too. But I think I have a little bit of a unicorn. |

I'm hoping somebody here knows the answer to this. I have a 2016 F30 340i, with which I got 3 years of Advanced RTTI included and I extended it for another year. The ARTTI subscription expired 2 weeks ago and I am yet to renew it. That said, should I still be able get standard RTTI or any form of TI at all on my Nav without paying a subscription fee?

This is not true. Threre are at least 2 levels of traffic services available in the US. One is a subscription from BMW (I believe that is ARTTI). My 2015 CPO had that for a few weeks before it ran out. Then there is FM radio based traffic information. I coded this on after my ARTTI ran out and I get free traffic information over FM radio for major routes in my area. It is not as good as ARTTI, but I still find it useful.
