Thanks for the video! Did you do anything else other than the exhaust to achieve this sound on your 335i? Any coding?

Thank you!

It's just a muffler and piping. There is no coding involved whatsoever.

No coding and no tunes, this is just the axle-back exhaust. I occasionally use the Bimmer Connect App to open/close the exhaust valve.

Are you referring to BimmerLink or is there another app that controls the exhaust flap?

Thanks! Is it worth buying a Remus midpipe as well or does OEM work/sound decent with just the Remus axleback update?

I'd leave the midpipe (resonator) alone. If you haven't gotten a DP yet. Get that before the axle back.

The OEM midpipe with resonator sounds good. If you want more sound than just the axle back, then a downpipe is a better upgrade.

Thanks! What would be the best sport cat DP for 435i? Will replacing a DP get the SA all nervous? Any risk of having your warranty void/VIN flagged?

Word has it VRSF will be releasing a guaranteed no CEL sport cat in the next few months. I personally would go catless.

Shit welds, garbage finish on the tips that won't last 2-3 years. It's grossly overpriced and there is maybe a 3-4% change in exhaust note and it's mostly obnoxious burps coming down on the rpms.

Here what it looks like after 30k....

Anyways,

Remus hands down.... Easily best axle back on the market for the $. Don't waste your money and end up buying a second exhaust in 3 months. I've had a couple sets over the years (e53 4.4, E46 M3, 135). Build quality is 9.9/10.

A good exhaust should not over-power any other external audible outputs from the car. For example, with some moderate acceleration, I can hear my turbo start to spool up, I can hear the mechanical sounds of the engine moving up the rpms, very slight intake noise from the eventuri system. And finally, a nice balanced exhaust note. When I floor it, everything comes tother, nothing overpowers one aspect of the vehicle.

Nothing sounds worse or is more annoying than just listening to the back exhaust overpower, drone, vibrate, and essentially dominate the acoustics of the the car. It's a fine balance that takes lots of trial and error and $..... otherwise you look and sound like an idiot... can you think of anything more annoying on the road than some shit exhaust system blasting bye rattling your windows?

Anyways - I might sound crazy... but cars are my thing and I'm a perfectionist. I did extensive research on this since 2014 when I purchased her. Went through almost every setup and this was my favorite by a long shot... liked it so much I ordered 2.
Hey you seem like a detailed and meticulous freak who over researches everything as well...

I've been looking at an MPE but now doubling back given all the commentary here.

My goal is to get my 2015 n55 335i m-sport to sound like a 340i with MPPSK. What's the closest way to get to that sweet sweet growl, burble, and snap crackle and pop without any droning and a valved quiet mode when desired? Axle back or is this something that requires a tune...CA so gotta stick with that stock cat dp.

Start with the Remus axlebaxk system and go from there.

-keeps valve operational
-won't throw a code or fail emission
-high end system that you can easily compliment with other modifications to get desired sound.

Step 2 would be some sort of tune, many which can further dial in amount of noise (bootmod3)

MPE exhaust is fine I just think you'll want a little more after an hour...

So drone isn't an issue with the Remus? For some reason, the videos I can find online make the MPE sound better (better tune/burbles).

Is the Remus still on sale? How much did you guys pick it up for including tips?

Here's another vid with Remus Catback and ER downpipe. I cycle through all the drive modes at the end so you can hear the differences. Car was on 225 winter tires so I couldn't launch it.

I'd even settle for just some personal opinions at this point. I'm stuck debating between the MPE and Remus axle backs (apples to apples rather than apples to bananas). A comparison between MPE and a full cat back Remus with a catless DP is hardly a fair comparison.
I just took a quick video (first 20 seconds is Eco Pro, then Sport Plus):

I'm sure I would have been completely satisfied with the MPE, but I was leaning towards Remus and I am very happy with the results.

Sport Plus mode gives you the burble. Watch this vid, you can see when they switch to Sport Plus at 1:15:
