Broke power steering wiring harness (rodents?)
Turned on my car today and the increased steering effort error message popped up on my idrive. I drove the car yesterday fine without any errors. I checked the engine bay and noticed a cut wire. Picture attached. The wire looks like its chewed off.
I am trying to figure out if I will be able to order a new cable and do a swap. Can somebody help out in finding the right wiring harness ? Also, is it worth it to try to swap myself or just take it to the mechanic? Anybody with similar experience? Any help is appreciated. |

Chewed wires are actually chewed insulation, which rodents like. They seldom chew the copper inside, but once exposed it corrodes and eventually breaks. The easiest fix is to splice in another piece of wire. That's a snap with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HCNTZ2Z...roduct_details
