Best sounding n20 f30 exhaust

Just want to gauge opinion, what is the best exhaust sound for f30 n20?

I understand everyone taste is different.

For me personally, I don’t like that bang bang firecracker noise, so i like the smooth sound…

its highly based on whatever you like but whats common usually is AWE catback with mid pipe and then they choose if they want to go catless or not from then, catless changes the cars tone. I have a muffler delete with primary catless dp, its loud but as a 16 year old bmw owner thats what i live for

Any muffler for a n20/335i/340i for the f chassis will fit.

I have the Active autowerk. It's louder than stock but still pretty quiet. I retrofitted the 335i/340i muffler instead of the 328i.

Something cool is someone is selling this for 50% the factory price. You can install this in your driveway with an exhaust clamp.

Active Autowerkes Axel Back 328i/328i xdrive https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1855341

This is N20, catless downpipe, removed resonator, Active Autowerks N55 335i rear muffler. It's really quiet all things considered. Stock air box here too. A little drone on the high way, but no drone if you don't get rid of the resonator. Stock turbo for this one. Yes the turbo spool is LOUD stock with an off the shelf tune stage 2 bootmod3.

REMUS or active autowerke are perfect for daily drivers. They are balanced with a deep mid-range tone.

You can also add a downpipe for a more aggressive sound

Catless VRSF downpipe with Valvetronics F30 Muffler and K&N high flow filter is what I have. Isn't obnoxious but defs loud enough to get attention. Especially when you shift, get that braaap sound, and find the rev range from 1k-2.5k will net you some stock burbles and bangs that are a nice touch, and the increased turbo noises are a nice touch. You can DM me on Instagram if you want some audio clips. Same handle for pretty much everything - BrysonDM

just saw this sorry but it makes the tone deeper and also adds a turbo sound around 700-1500 rpm

Catless downpipe

Here is how my car sounds with catless downpipe + res delete

I am trying to make it a little more aggressive and deeper with the M performance exhaust. Any recommendations? Maybe add the res back?

You are talking about two different things. The exhaust sound, fullness, depth, tone comes from the internal exhaust engineering and design. It's the guts of the muffler. AWE is the best that I've heard. BMW MP exhaust sounds good too.

But the bangs, pops, burbles are programmed by the engine tune that you are running. BootMod3 has a whole dashboard to customize/program the way that you want it to sound. I ended up using BootMod3 to turn all that off, so I just hear the full deep sound of the exhaust system when I step on the gas.

Hope this helps!
