I-Step is F020-13-11-504, PSZData 51.3, so it should be working, right?
I guess I'm missing some CAFD file, but I have no idea where to get the right one.

Any ideas?
This is strange, as this CAFD as far as I know is not part of any PSdZData release. 51.3 added cafd_000007a1.caf.005_033_001, which is newer, and the version before it was cafd_000007a1.caf.005_031_003, which is older.

So, what you need to do then is as follows:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on REM => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select CAFD cafd_000007a1.caf.005_033_001 => Select OK => Right-Click on REM (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Thanks Shawn, that sorted it.

Another question : do you happen to have the pinout for the USB2 port on the NBT?
I VO-coded 6NS, and I ordered cable 61119322445 (nr. 1 here), which I think runs between USB2 on the NBT and the base plate in the armrest. Instead of connecting to the base plate I'm going to try and solder on a female USB2-port so I will have 2 USB ports in my armrest, one for the iPod for music, and one for the iPhone for apps.

Do you think that will work?

It's off altogether. When start the car back up the will the radio station selection screen. It will be playing the previously selected station, it just won't show the previously selected RDS data. I have to go back and select it. It's the sane when playing MP3s. It defaults back to the top of the song list instead of the current track.

Re split view, I don't know that I've ever used that, I'll look into it.

No, sorry. I don't have it. In theory it should work, but no telling in BMW world.

Okay just played the system and I don't think I have the split screen option. I followed the instructions in the manual and there was no option for it. Is that part of the navigation package? If so I don't have nav either.

no connection

Hi guys...

I can't connect to my car any more. Thought my cable is broken, but I received another one today and I still have the same problem.
When I connect it takes about 2 minutes until a connection seems to be established (network logo with exclamation mark appears right of the taskbar), but zgwsearch.exe doesn't find any connection and e-sys doesn't either.
Any idea what the problem might be?

Ben

Yes. Without Navigation, there is no reason to split the screen. Regardless, I would expect RDS to remain on, and I am surprised yours isn't.

Ben
Laptop must not have Firewall or any Antivirus software running.

PC Lan Adapter should get a fallback IP address of 169.254.xxx.xxx (Make sure it is using DHCP and does not have a Static IP address assigned to it)

ZGW_Search does not matter. If you have 169.254.xxx.xxx IP Address, try and connect to the car.

Thanks for the information, sounds like this requires further research. And there doesn't seem to be a coding fix.

You do not need EDIABAS at all. You need only E-Sys with working Token solution and PSdZData.

I can confirm that this does work, effectively adding a second USB port (6NH + coding) or replacing the baseplate/cradle with a USB port (6NS).

If anyone's interested I can make a thread with some pictures, I now have the iPod classic connected to the armrest USB for my music library, and a lightning connector by the ashtray to connect my iPhone for music/apps.
