I bought this for my f34

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roof-bars-...sAAOSwstxVFR5p

Absolutely fine, decent quality although the instructions are a bit vague and confusing

Only downside is that whistle quite badly although I am sure this could be sorted with a bit of fine tuning..

Square bars are going to whistle like mad. Tear-drop shaped bars will be much quieter, though none are totally silent.

It's not custom-made - he simply figured out which model/dimensions work for the 3-Series GT.

I'd be happy to send photos, but for some reason the photo size is too big for uploading. Not sure how to change that.
Thanks for the info. After a big hiccup while driving in Italy on my Euro pickup purchase of a 2017 M340 3GT I just got my new car and its running perfectly so far after an electronic brain meltdown in Florence.

Anyway, its all good now and I want to get a bike rack. I live in Bay Area and will check out RackSolid. I also want to get a class 2 trailer hitch but things are a little vague from what I've been able to research. Anyone know if Curt or someone has a proven model for the 3GT M trim? Some ambiguous notes say it will fit the 340 i sedan model, but its not verified.

Last thing, Does your rack attach with the one screw under the flap, sot that its a quick on & off ?

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,
I have removed my roof rack from my GT.
If you want it, I can sell it to you for a good price.
I wrapped it in carbon fiber vinyl when purchased. so its in flawless condition.
Let me know.

Thule Rack

Finally got my fit KIT to use my rack from my old car. Took it camping this past weekend and wouldn't you know somehow had a scratch on the door when I hiked back out the next day. Nothing a little buffing won't get out.

Thule says to use the 47inch areobars, but I had the 53's already so that is what I used. I like they stick out. After a few more miles I may move the bike racks to the outside to free up some room for kayaks or canoes.

Thule only show fits for 2015 and prior years, but called and the 2016 is same fit.

I've been thinking about if the black areobars would look better, but not sure I'm looking to spend money for that. The bike racks are going to be silver either way.

Does anyone know if other BMW racks could fit? Can I use racks for a standard 3 series? Could standard racks be adjusted?

I am new to BMW with my F34, and haven't worked with them before.

It is my understanding that the same BMW racks fit F30, F31, F32 and F34. I know mine fits F30 and F32. They do adjust.
