I just went to the castle too early, I had the choice to keep recruiting for the minutemen or take the castle and should have kept recruiting a while longer.

It's ok though as can leave the castle and fast travel away to do other stuff instead!
Oh i'll stay away from there then!

It is a great game, i'm hooked, can't think about work just want to go play Fallout!!

My wife has bought me Fallout 4 for my birthday (roll on Saturday)!

Recently upgraded my gaming rig to a Broadwell core i5 with a Radeon R9 Nano (pocket rocket) and 16Gb RAM, so it should run the game fairly well.

I agree - the card cost more than the rest of the computer put together.

Normally I'd never get something so expensive, but I got an unexpected payout just when I was mulling over what graphics card to get and decided to switch from the small form-factor GTX970 I was considering to this monster.

Here is a picture of it in-situ.

Only 12 hours or so until Fallout 4 now

Very nice rig.

Mine is due an upgrade this time next year.

I have a full tower with a Phantom Case, water cooled, 6 fully controllable silent fans.

So room to fit pretty much anything.

Will definitely stick to water cooled systems and silent fans.

Also have full surround sound, rather immersive for some games

For Christmas I am hopefully moving to a dual 27 inch monitor setup.

Fallout 4 is going well, about 50 odd hours in to it.

Nice weapon layout, .50 cal sniper rifle with suppressor for those long range silent kills, fully upgraded auto shotgun - suppressor for close in silent kills and a Gatling for mayhem

For those playing on PC, there's already some great mods available on mod Nexus website, which really improve gameplay. Best ones so far are:

- change back to full list of speech options, not 2-3 word conversation wheel
- lowered weapons when weapon drawn but not being used
- general texture improvements (water, blood, sky, eyes, pipboy)
- ENB enhanced shaders/lighting etc.

Hopefully soon there will be a better inventory sorting mod, as it's a nightmare with all the armour components and junk etc!

Loving the game so far, about 20hrs in - I'm going more for sneaky lazer sniper, with combat shotgun for close range. Combat so much better, don't use VATS nearly as much as F3 or NV like a crutch.

Also not moved onto 2nd story quest yet!

I really really hate that when you mod your armour, weapons, you are left with the previous parts. It's just extra junk (until you find a shop).

Currently using grade E BOS armour with titanium shielding.

Off home soon to erm do some work, ..... Well ok Fallout 4, wife home at 1900...

Okay put about 9 hours into FO4 now and all I can say is...wow!

Liking the building and upgrading aspect, though missing the old trick of combining knackered weapons/armour to repair them. I particularly like the way all the random junk can actually be used for something now.

So far I've done the car complex to get power armour, briefly visited Diamond City, and will do a bit of minuteman recruitment to level up and earn some caps. Preston being a Garvey is a bonus too, just like one of the family.

My Nano makes the game look pretty awesome. 1080p with everything absolutely maxed out gives 60fps and I think that is only limited by the monitor. In fact, I still get 30fps when I stream the game to my main television via a Celeron-based HTPC; I still haven't quite got over the fact that with streaming I can play a game like FO4 at 1080p ultra on a 1.8Ghz Celeron with an Intel HD graphics card and 4Gb RAM.

One thing I read in a guide was that if you find a modified weapon you can remove the modification before scrapping the weapon for parts and then you get the parts but also the mod you can then apply to a weapon you want to keep. I can't get that to work though...

5 hours in so far and loving it. On the PS4 everything seems to run fine but I do miss having a PC to play games on. Maybe it's time to build a monster one again.

Will Fallout 4 work on my Xbox, which is not the Xbox One? otherwise I'll have to get another later Xbox One or a Sony PS, not for myself you understand.

No it's not available for the Xbox 360. I bought an Xbox One just last week specifically for this game.

Wow that is tiny!

Looks like you need some sort of cable tidy system though!

His lack of cable management disturbs me

Time to invest in some Velcro ties and cable ties @mgarvey

The picture is deceptive. My case is a Thermaltake Core V1, and whilst it has very little in the way of cable management, the motherboard sits on a tray with the power supply below it.

When you build in the case, you basically just shove the cables under the motherboard tray and route them around it to where they need to go, so from the top (where the window is) it looks quite neat, but from the side where I took the picture you can see the mass of cables under the motherboard.

The picture below, taken with the top off the case as there was too much reflection, hopefully shows this a bit better - not that I'm precious about my cable management or anything .

Next step is to get a better CPU cooler to replace the noisy stock item.

...oh, and if you meant a cable tidy for outside the case, fair comment!

I have a little cupboard for all my IT kit and it all just gets shoved in there, though again the computer is normally at about head height, so you don't really see the mass of cables behind it.

Get a water cooled system fitted.

With some silent case fans
