reviving this dead thread...I just did the spacer insall today. literally 5 min job. part 64-11-9-350-495. found a some info on the F30 forums and figured bite the bullet and give it a shot. the part fit, so it must be the right one? hah, we shall see.

i am currently experiencing this AC thing as of now, and I wonder if this troubleshoot permanently fixed it.

spacer has worked well for me! I've also been more attentive and not run the air flow so low, which contributed to the freezing. spacer was super cheap. worth it.

I had the same problem after an hour or so driving with the same conditions you describe. I will definetely look into replacing this part!

Wow I had this same issue on about 2-3 occasions on long drives over the summer. Is this definitely a recall that's free for the consumer or should I try to diy? Thanks for the info guys.

Based on the date information in the bulletin, would it be correct to assume this was resolved for, perhaps, 2016MY and later?

2016 320i and have also experienced this a few times. Bought the spacer and plan to install when I swap out my cabin filter next week.

Hoping that temp sensor is easy enough to locate.
