Guess who's back, back again...

Now that the worst of you-know-what is hopefully behind us we have returned as forum sponsors.

My colleague Daniel will be here too occasionally, on my account. Dan owns an E46 M3 and has a wealth of knowledge on old shi...classic models.

I'm picking up a M135i from Tony Lewis next week and will be tootling around the country visiting dealers in that once we have pumped it up to full AC Schnitzer specification. Let me know if you fancy a spin in it. We'll be concentrating our efforts on G2X and G8X from now on but of course always have time for F3X owners and will answer any questions in our usual totally biased fashion

It's good to be back.

Lorcan

Welcome back - the car looks great!

With the current market, a few people (myself included) have settled the finance on their cars and keeping them longer term.

I may be looking at some mods to my X3 M40i!!!!

Ah, yes. The grill situation. AC Schnitzer is owned by the Kohl Group, one of the largest BMW dealer groups in Germany. There is some mutual co-operation. BMW allow AC Schnitzer to be sold at 30 or so BMW dealers in Germany (and about the same number here in the UK) and in return AC Schnitzer agree not to tamper with BMW's corporate image or IP. This includes the BMW roundels on the bonnet, boot and steering wheel (any AC Schnitzer versions you might have seen are fake), AND the kidney grills.

AC Schnitzer therefore will not be offering any alternative grills. At least, not ones that are a different shape. No complete new bumpers or anything like that.

That's interesting to know and makes sense from BMW's perspective.

It's still going to be interesting to see, I do like what ACS do with their cars.

And like others have commented, that green is lush.

We've had some notable green cars in the past, so it seemed appropriate.

The subject of also grills came up when I visited BMW HQ in Farnborough a couple of years ago, with a colleague from AC Schnitzer Germany.

The gentleman from BMW mentioned that some markets around the world enjoyed "bold brand statements".

Consider that just one BMW dealer in China sells 40,000 cars a year, and you can see how we have arrived at this point.

Love the colour... Now I am getting used to my M135 and loving it, I shall be interested to see what modifications you will be offering for the car...
