Our other F30 has had it's rear bumper badly damaged in the local M&S Carpark. No note, nada. £1000 to replace and paint an M Sport Rear Bumper.

I get the price if there are replacing a door or a bumper but just to paint it is ridiculous.
Considering a HGV is £2000 + vat to paint and nearly all of that is labour. Over £200 in materials to do half of a bonnet is a joke!

I recently had an old man scratch up my front bumper when he parked beside me. Did he leave a note? Did he say something? No, he just went out of his car and had a look at mine and then took off. |

Yeah, I just don't get it.
Why do people do it? I've been lucky enough not to hear or experience people scratching other cars on purpose. I wouldnt want an apology, it's just BS, I'd want to know why and obviously get him to pay for it. I think he'll feel more of a twat having to say why he did it in the first place.

Is anybody else getting like me? I try to get end spaces in supermarket and if I can't I'd rather leave the car, on its own, at the other end of the carpark, a long way from the shop door if necessary. I've already got a ding in the rear passenger door.
It's just me, Isn't it ?

my silver e46 paint was damaged by heat from a neighbours car which caught fire - it went slightly bronze and blistered on the passenger side.
My local bodshop stripped all the seals and plastic work, resprayed F & R wings, both doors and blended onto the bonnet and rear hatch for £350 and refitted with replacement handles and mirrors that i picled up off ebay - it was as good if not better than new. likewise, when a young chap ran into the back of my e89 z4, it cost me £200 to take the rear bumper off, repair, refit and respray - the young fella was happy to pay cash for that as his insurance would have shafted him. Finding a reliable bodyshop is worthwhile and much cheaper than going through insurance. |

I use Clydeview Motors down in Greenock. (I'm from that area though I live in GLA west end now.) It is in a rough area bit they have been doing body repairs for years & they have a good local reputation. I think most of the local dealers use them.
