I believe that is the transmission oil cooler.. You definitely do not want to be low on transmission fluid.. I would get that checked asap!!

You would need to put in the particulars of your car, ie: year, engine, etc.. and the right part number will be listed.. The following is an example of the part you are referring to: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=17_0638
