need help asap SPORT SEAT RETRO

Long story short I installed new passenger sport seat from base. Electric/heated/everything the same except I added the extra power wire for the side bolsters, everything works good except I have an error on the dash and in ista.. now first I didn't do ANY coding yet, idk if that's the problem but I have a seatbelt tensioner error, is that because I haven't coded yet? do I have to run a function in ista? any help would b appreciated. btw I didn't install the driver side yet because im waiting to install the lumbar support and switch and I gotta run a few wires for the atm retrofit and wanna do that while I have driver seat out. Again any help would b appreciated

1) if you do not have both seats atleast connected to all the electrical circuit, expect errors galore.

2) the electronic control unit (ecu) under the seats needs to be registered to be recognized. That's why most reuse their ecu from their old seats (providing it has all the functions - check via realoem).

Just seen this and I'm halfway through retrofitting heated memory seats in place of my unheated manual seats. What does registering the ECU involve, how should I do that?

Thanks for the quick reply, I have ISTA but haven't used it seriously yet, is registering a module easy to do? Was hoping to keep the VO unchanged as the car still has a couple of years warranty left and I didn't want any issues from BMW

How did you connect the side bolsters?

I have a friend who changed his seats but can’t get his bolsters to work.

Thank u. I only have the one so gonna wait until I get the second one in there n code before I switch anything out. To register ecu with ista is the ista-d? Or do I need ista-p for that? Thanks.

Registering an ecu to a vehicle has nothing to do with voiding warranty. It does not change the VO.

A BMW Dealer would do exactly the same if the part needed replacement.
