Brake pad change question

Hi all,

Do I need to order two replacement wear sensors?

Or can I reuse if they have not activated?

Thanks

Reuse if you're careful when removing.

Yes they can be reused but as Digidick says, you need to be careful as heat can make them brittle.

Are you doing front and rears? There’s only one on the front and one on the rear.

Best to buy one and have it ready when you change the pads as the old one can disintegrate when you remove it. They’re only about £10 on ebay/ecp

Or... don't order one and if it does disintegrate just tie it out of the way temporarily until the new one arrives - it is only a case of taking the wheel off again to swap out the sensor... If you use a screwdriver to gently ease it backwards out of its slot keeping it straight you should be fine...
