Need tires. Reco?

I'm using 25/45ZR-18 MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4S XL tires on my f30 X DRIVE

I'd like to try something different. Looking for a smooth drive even if all weather tires. Any reco?

Conti DWS06 have served me extremely well (current setup; first time trying the DWS06). That said, I just moved to FL so I will get something different next time around, but if I were up north I would definitely have gotten the DWS06 again.

Do you think they lasted about 50k miles or more? I'm not happy with 40k or less especially if the tires are expensive like the Michelin performance summer tires are.

Yeah, they are warrantied for 50k miles and I just crossed 50k miles and I have plenty of tread left still. I anticipate they will last another 10k miles or so.

Wow 50k? You definitely wont get UHP tires in that range, nor will you reach anywhere near that if you drive aggressively at all. The lower the treadwear, the more grip, but the fewer miles they will last. It's obviously personal preference, but I'll gladly replace my tires every ~20k if it means i have a UHP summer tire like the PS4S i currently run. But if you are just commuting in your car from A to B then i guess your use case might be different.

I did a trackday on the DSW06 - not great for grip, but they last a while.

Edit: I live in FL too - I'll be going with a full summer tire next time around.

I don't track my car, but they have been excellent in heavy rain and even a couple inches of snow. I used them day in and day out for three years through NJ winters and rains and was very impressed. Never felt unsafe or unsure about the grip even at highway speeds. With great tread life to boot...at least on my set of tires.

Okay at first, but getting louder as it wears. It is also a little louder than standard AS grand touring tires given that is an AS high performance tire, but quieter than run flats (it is relative, so depends on your current tire setup). I didn't find it disruptive. I think you will get a little more noise with any high performance tire.

Thanks. I wonder how they would compare to my current Michelin pilot sport 4

OP, if you don't mind me asking....what specifically don't you like about the Michelins? I ask because I'm thinking of them for my next set.

They are awesome but pricey AND wear fast. I'm just looking for something that will last longer even if not the absolute best tire out there.

They are decent in the wet, but a good set of summer tires are better. You really don't need All season tires in FLA.

But like it was said, they are quiet, comfortable and last a while.

Get the PS4S, you wont regret it. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1678451

Personally, I could never compromise on tires since it directly limits the performance of your car in every aspect, regardless of what other mods you have. You can get a set of PS4S for <$1,000 at Costco, they have promotions for $150 off all the time, comes with install, road hazard, etc. 30,0000 mile warranty.

Patch/plug that and have some fun with those before replacing. I had a huge nail in almost exactly the same spot on my bridgestones and did that. Ran them for a few thousand more.

I ended up getting a set of conti DSW06. They feel like 90% of the PS4S for quite a bit less $$. I like them so far and they are silent.

How many miles did you get out of the P4S? I personally would have went with Continental Extreme ContactPlus that is P4S competitor and gone with dedicated winter wheels/tires if you're located where it gets snow.
