F30 M-Sport Bumper Ground Height
I have a 2017 330e (non-Msport), and I'm considering doing some M sport additions, mainly being the front bumper.
I know that F30's equipped with the M sport package are slightly lowered, but is the front bumper itself actually any lower to the ground compared to the normal F30 bumper? Generally, I tend to park with my bumper hanging just slightly over the curb, and I am fearful that I would smack the curb head-on while parking with the new bumper. Any help appreciated, Thanks! |

I cannot answer what the difference is, but on my m-sport bumper, (x-drive which might be a bit higher?), it's about 8" from ground to the center portion, and 6.75" ground to the side portions.

I don't have any measurements but I have a base pack car and did the full M-sport body swap and it's definitely an inch or two lower to the ground in the front than it used to be. If you don't lower the car or add the M-performance lip it really shouldn't matter though unless you're planning on parking in spaces with those concrete barriers. If so, I'd suggest making a habit of backing in from now on when you park, or if that's too much of a hassle you can always retrofit a grill/bumper camera. The former is cheaper so that's what I do. Also makes getting out of spaces much easier/less risky.

I tend to back in most of the time anyways, but I fear that I won't be used to the new bumper, and crunch it! |

Just spit balling here, but my guess is the non-M sport bumper is probably the height of the center portion of the m-sport. If you look at AndrewC1989's pic right above this post, you can see the gap between his lip and the center bumper portion. It's about 1.25" from what I measured.
I'd say if you can tolerate 1.25" on the sides, you are ok. But like others mentioned, losing another 1" and putting on the lip saves the bumper from rubbing (as well as the curb stops), and looks a lot better. |

It’s not just that the MP splitter is much lower, it’s that it also juts out about 2” in front. That’s what takes the biggest bite out of your ramp/approach angle. And typically it’s the reduced angle that leads to scraping, more than the bodywork being lower.
Plus the MP splitter is thick below the leading edge, to provide its inverted-wing aero downforce. On my 435iX MSport w/EDC (stock) the leading edge of the splitter sits 5.5” off the ground, but below at the thickest point it’s only 4.25” off… |

Not sure if that's the lowest point so there may be a little less room underneath somewhere, but it's in the ball park |
