2015 435i Fog Light Retrofit

So I am looking for a DIY for installing fog lights on a 2015 435 that came without them.

I have found PNs for the grill inserts and foglights themselves, but curious what other parts such as cables etc will be needed for this mod. Do the 435s without fogs typically already have the wiring/connectors installed for the fogs?

There's a reason the factory didn't install fog lights on 435's....they block the oil coolers.

My 435 came with them and I did a fog light delete

Think it’s down to euro vs US spec

I believe only 2014 did not have fog lights, I've seen many 2015+ 435s with fog lights.

Incorrect. If you got the track handling package, or the upgraded brakes; You get the additional oil cooler on all years of 435s.

Mine does not have the track handling package. From my constant search over the last few months it seems like the 2014-2015 435s do not have fog lights regardless. And then the 2016-2018s don’t have them if they have the track handling package.

I’ve been told I don’t have an additional oil cooler on my version and it is the same as the 435s that do have the fog lights so I don’t see it being an issue for me to install if I can figure it out.

Is there a reason you want them besides for looks? I find with our cars the headlights are so low that fog lights don't actually help anyway. They only really make a difference for trucks where the headlights are so much higher up.

Do the fogs on the 435's come on when turning to serve as a cornering light? I've seen them do this on some F30's, but I have the THP and can't verify on my car.

Between the low ride height and dynamic headlights, I'm not seeing much value in having the fogs. I also think the car looks better without them, but that is just my 2 cents.

Yup looking to get them just for looks tbh...no actual functionality. Big fan of the LED fogs and I like how it kind of fills out the front bumper even more....but to each their own. I could see why some would like it more without.

So if I was able to do the mod by just purchasing the led fogs and the associated grill pieces I wouldnt mind. But if there is a lot more to it then I propably will forget about it.

Another thread instructed me that I can just modify the empty/blank switch area where the fog light button should be to allow it to "press". would need coding. Really just need to determine if I need to install cables all the way up to the fog lights and if so...how to do that.

I'm certain that the switch would not be functional unless the fogs were wired up with a factory/OEM harness, I doubt the fogs connect directly to the switch but you can look that up in the wiring diagrams. https://newtis.info

My 435i (M-Sport, M-Adaptive susp, w/o trk pkg, w/o blue brakes) doesn't have fogs, but I do have the SA552 Adaptive LED head lights. The LED's have a cornering LED/bulb near the grill that lights up the side of the road on turns.

Bumping this to see if anyone knows of any DIY writeups to install OEM (or similar) fog lights on 435i that came without them.

Yes, they do, at first I thought they are malfunctioning, haha. I'm thinking of removing them for a cleaner/sportier look, I rarely use them.

I for whatever reason enjoy the look of the fog lights over non-fog lights. Just cant figure out exactly what it will take to make it happen.
