Post F30 330i exhaust/muffler options

Hey guys, starting a new thread so it's easy to find.
I'm in the market to change my stock muffler and currently exploring options (OEMs) between the genuine MPE or the 340i style single tip dual side set setup for symmetry purposes. Reading the previous posts I can see the struggle to find an OEM 340i muffler is real. I read a few forums where someone installed the 340i MPE on the 330i and complained about it being a little too loud and eventually switched back. I'm just after a bit more grunt when in sport mode or high rpm so contemplating if I should go for OEM 330i MPE which has the same setup as stock, stock 340i muffler (if I can find them), or 340i MPE. Does anyone have any combinations on their car and based in Melbourne, would love to meet up and hear it in person. If anyone can assist in sourcing the above in any way would highly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Sid

Hi Sid
I installed the MPE on my 330i last year.
It's certainly not loud, but has a nice tone at high revs.
Gives a few pops and crackles in sport mode. The stock muffler sounds like a vacuum cleaner compared to the sporty one.
You can hear what it sounds like from YouTube postings on the net.

Thanks Alpine330! Pretty much sums up the questions I had for the 330i MPE. For now, I too might go with this option as I am not chasing a loud sound or anything. Should be understated in comfort mode but give out some pops and crackles in sport mode. There are quite a few aftermarket exhaust options I have in mind when I go for performance mods down the line. Will achieve the symmetric exhaust look then. Waiting for my warranty to expire and need to prepare myself to bear the shocks for any rising insurance costs! Haha

I've got a m performance exhaust on my F36 and it was my first mod I did. Love the sound it gives. Its prob a touch louder now as down the track I've done a few more mods.

A new update! Got the MPE fitted yesterday and it’s exactly what I was after. Those subtle pops and crackles were music to my ears. The sound is in fact expected to go a little deeper once the exhaust settles in which I believe will make this even more worth it.
@[Alpine330] described it perfectly especially that it makes the stock muffler sound like a vacuum cleaner 😂
@[Hermies] apart from the cosmetic mods this is also my first performance mod 😄 among many to come.

Nice. Let it run in like I have and it will sound a little deeper. I've gone stage 2 now so I've popped in a MST CAI and a Flashtune 200 dp. Yet again it's a different car. Love hearing the turbo spools now.

Nice! Haha, I too have ordered the MST CAI for those turbo spools. I'm curious to know the change in the exhaust note with the changed dp. Would love to hear both in person, the high-flow like yours and also a catless. Perhaps we could meet up in person?

The note is a lot deeper and the cold start is much louder. I didn't opt for catless because it would be to loud for my liking and I've heard it may drone. Also wasn't keen on the fume smell in the cabin. I thought the CIA was a cool sound but I much rather the turbo spool sound now.

Hey guys where did you buy a MPE? Was it just directly from the dealership. Also do you know how it would fit onto a 320i?
