Lego Technic builders...
Are there any on here?
As I'm going to be house-bound for at least 2 weeks after my op on 03rd Jan, and forced to not work for a week at least (my boss is putting her foot down apparently as she knows I'll just carry on working as soon as I'm home after the op) - force of habit after running your own business for 14 years and still working from home etc... Have MacBook/will travel Anyways - I'm looking at the Lego Land Rover 42110 and possible the Mack Anthem 42078 lorry - via eBay as they're retired sets now Any other suggestions?

The Porsche 911 RSR is pretty good build, takes a while.
https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/p...Y&gad_source=1 Only issue is that it sits a little high on its springs but in true forum style there is a simple mod to lower it - looks proper cool once done |

Excellent Dan! Here's the link for suspension mods. Not ACS or Eibach though 😁 |

I've recently got into building Lego technic sets and can't get enough of it. So far I've done:
Mclaren Senna GTR Ford GT Bugatti Bolide Ford Mustang And the two big ones: Lamborghini Sian Bugatti Chiron I'm thinking of getting the Ferrari Daytona next. |

I'm more into 1/43 and 1/50 'collectible' style models these days but I still have a soft spot for Technic stuff as I can vividly remember getting the big sets quite a few times for Christmas when I was growing up. A few years when I was between jobs and moping about a bit after the accident in the alps I pulled my old massive box of lego down from the attic and started sorting through it, and after re-finding the instructions too set about re-building most of them although unfortunately the pneumatics are pretty dead on most of them. It was pretty therapeutic and enjoyable, and I still keep looking at sets with a view to buying one or two of them. The Volvo articulated dump truck and Liebherr cranes look amazing!

I’ve been going more for the Lego Creator, some excellent sets so well thought out.
TBH the best I’ve ever seen/built was the roller coaster I built with my boy. The attention to detail and little touches is immense, and if you add the motor to it becomes brilliant fun as the chain hill is always running. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/roller-coaster-10261 My bits: |

Nothing to add really to all these cool builds but just to say I absolutely loved Lego Texhnic growing up and actually learned a fair few basics from it too.

I have the Ferrari Daytona SP3 and the McLaren F1 car both great builds. I believe there should be a new large car next year also as they follow a pattern of release every other year so hopefully 2024 sees a new one.

I grew up with lego technic, not too fussed about the cars, but could have the Yamaha mt10 bike model.
But for me I'd really love the liebherr crane! If I had a spare £580 of course! |

I remember getting my first set when I was 6 years old, 8842 a go kart with moving motor piston, I still have it. A lot of the sets now are aimed at adults and the smaller sets tend to be cars or pull back cars.

I had that same set! Was great fun, a year later I got the test car (8865) I remember the alternative instructions made a jeep type truck, I modified it to improve the suspension

I had a lot of the normal bricks as a lad, recently discovered a box full of old bits from the 80’s, a few Space sets and I remember my first technic was a Forklift which is still up in the loft somewhere…
Just looking that up these go on eBay for 70 quid, wtf! We are Lego mad at the moment, I put a lot of that down to my son who’s 9 he can’t get enough of it. He has soooooo much, Arctic stuff, a lot of City stuff, quite a few Harry Potter ones, and a load of the Lego Super Mario (that’s very very clever!). In addition to my homage to NASA I’ve also got a few Star Wars bits, the Kessell Run Millenium Falcon, X Wing, Tie Fighter, B-Wing and A-Wing! Need a new bigger house to fit it all in |

I don't have space currently for most my sets which are mainly UCS Star wars stuff including the 76192 Falcon which is just massive. The Batcave shadow box looks fun.
My 8 year old is Harry Potter mad and has a lot of the HP sets including Hogwarts castle 71043 and currently collecting the modular Hogwarts castle sets. |

That was my first Technic set! I think I was maybe four or five and my dad built it up the night before for me over some whisky. I can vividly remember playing with it on Christmas morning on the floor of my grandparents croft, now my parents. He'd fitted the optional motor to it (apparently the source of some swearing) so it was remote control too. I rebuilt mine up a few years ago, I just need to find somewhere to have them on display in the aforementioned mancave-to-be now.

Had my 1st LEGO set at 3 years old in 71, I have just turned 55 and my collection is worth more than my car was when it was new For those who dont know, I am the "Senior Advanced LEGO Model Designer" for the official LEGO video games. TT games Studio in Knutsford, owned by Warner Bros. 15 years there, I have 20 or so games under my belt, 3 film / DVD productions. Designed the LEGO Ideas Caterham 7 set which was put into production late 2016 and I'm published in about 7 books. I think its fair to say I love LEGO, always have and always will. My Flickr stream is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bricktrix/ and albums (easier to sort by category) here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bricktrix/albums I did put a few images on here a few years ago, link to the discussion is here:https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=80 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1#post27303001 Happy New Year to all for tonight

https://youtu.be/TteS6q20VUY Unloading the groceries starts taking 4 hrs. I can’t believe they make a kit that big. In the video it’s almost touching the ceiling.
