Door Handle Lighting?

Do all BMW's from 2009 and up have LED door handle lighting standard? Like even the base of the base model's? And will my 340 have them? Because my 2011 335 did and I loved them! But when one of them started to go in and out it was annoying.

I think it requires the Lighting package for some of the years. I have it in my '17 and think it is awesome looking.

I'm pretty sure it was std on my '14 328. The lights also come on when I put my car in reverse--but that feature may only be with the lighting pkg.

If the LEDs are there I think that can be enabled via coding, I've seen that option.

Don't you have to have the Lighting Package on your cars in order to get that? Im asking because a friend of mines is looking at a 2012 328i and it has heated seats but no Cold Weather Pkg. and doesn't the Premium Package bring in comfort access?

If you look at the lighting pkg, what is included does not state "Puddle Lights" or anything like that. So I'm pretty sure the lights themselves are standard; but again, the lighting pkg may enable them when you put the car in reverse. Just like fog lights--they are not part of the lighting pkg, but the fogs don't function as cornering lights if you don't have the lighting pkg.

Yes, the led door handle lights have been standard in the U.S. since the 2006 E90. They are part of the "lighting pkg", which is standard on U.S. models. That is not the optional light pkg that includes xenon headlights.

Custom Door Handle light ?

Hello,

New here. Hope to learn a lot and share when I can.

The door light mod is nice touch.

I just bought a new 2019 440 with the M package. Awesome car. It is replacing an 05 325i we bought new as well.

The 2019 440 has lights in the door handles themselves that project light onto the ground when you unlock the car. I've seen products offered online to make the lights in the bottoms of the doors(on cars with those) project an image onto the ground instead of just white light. Is there a lens or some kind of modification out there that will allow the door "handle" lights to project an image?

Thanks guys,
Randy

I'm pretty sure they are standard on 340. Though the M340 has less standard equipment than the old car. But this is pretty much standard across the board. I feel like this is one of those things that makes a BMW a BMW. One of those things that non luxury brands have yet to copy.
