I talked to BMW Genius today and they said my car 340i M sport with Track Pack left the port in South Africa on 12/22 with an estimated delivery of February 16th. This seems like an awfully long time. Is this typical?

Normal for SA build. It most likely will have many stops in europe before crossing Atlantic.

How did you find that? I’m tracking on Marinetraffic and see it’s going to Spain now but I don’t see where to next. If this is a normal timeline then I’ll put my wishful thinking that Feb 16th was a mistake, to rest.

Yea, says Long Beach 2/25/18 on the itinerary.
Add 2 days if you have Port Install items going on, 1-2 days for roll off Vessel/inspection. 1 day dealer prep
Should be March 2ish delivery I'd reckon

its worth the wait. My car is still on the boat. It left SA on Nov 20th. eta to West coast in 2 weeks. Also keep checking the website. as the schedule of arrivals/departures changes.

I'm on the Valiant Ace as well. Placed the order on 11/13 and should take delivery around Feb 9/10. Ordered a 340i xDrive Shadow Sport in mineral grey/coral red.

Very nice build! Yes hopefully it's on time but i checked the schedule that was posted by member above and it was delayed 2 days. For Long Beach at least. Crazy how many stops these ships have I guess they're dropping and loading at every port!

My car / boat is currently slated to land at VPC on Jan 23rd. and its just chilling off the Puerta Vallarta. Seems like its taking a break before going to long beach. Guess no free docks for it.

This wait is killing me lol

Haha I can imagine your frustration. They’re probably partying for a couple days after the long trip around the world. So your car gets dropped in Long Beach and then shipped to SF?

I received confirmation from BMW genius that my car is expected to reach dealership on Tuesday, 2/13 . Not sure when dealer will be ready for me to pick it up though. I'm hoping either Thursday or Friday next week.

The car actually did sit on port for about 2 weeks as well. according to Molo. It got to Port Hueneme on 1-23. but pretty much sat there till about 2-2 when it finally checked in to the vpc. I couldnt get an answer from BMW to why it was delayed. even telling them that their system was wrong, as the ship Prime ace was already on its way to china and could not have gotten to port Hueneme on 2/2. After 2/2 it took about a week to process through the VPC.

so its either VPC was very behind in processing cars. or the 69 Hr government shutdown on 1/19 cause some backup with customs. who knows.

I pick up my car today. I'll get pics up once i am there.

Yeah, BMW genius said it was on a train from Baltimore expected to arrive at the dealer today. I spoke to my CA yesterday and he didn't seem to know when it was going to arrive, except for sometime this week. I'm still hoping for Thursday delivery, just in time for the weekend.

Haven't heard from my CA yet but I think I'm definitely picking it up today as its listed for sale on the dealers website... not the greatest thing to see. Is it normal for it to be listed for sale on the dealers website?

Yeah mine was listed for sale on the dealer site as well, marked as "in transit," and they told me it's automatically done by the system.
