Two Options for 428xi GC lease: help me choose bet 2 configs

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at leasing a 428xi GC. Based on what I've read, the Dynamic Handling Package sounds pretty close to a must on this model. Apparently there's not a huge inventory of 428xi's in the area that have DHP, so I'm mainly choosing between two similar optioned models that the dealer has on hand. I was hoping for some thoughts on which to choose. MSRP are within a few hundred of each other so cost isn't really a factor.

Vehicle 1
428xi GC, Black Sapphire Metallic, black dakota leather, dark burl walnut trim w/pearl finishes
- Cold Weather Package
- Driver Assistance Package
- Dynamic Handling Package
- M Sport Package
- Premium Package
- Navigation System
- HK Sound

Vehicle 2
428xi GC, Black Sapphire Metallic, black dakota leather, high gloss black trim w/red coral finishes
- Cold Weather Package
- Driver Assistance Package
- Dynamic Handling Package
- Sport line
- Premium Package
- Technology Package
- Parking Assistant
- HK Sound

At first I was leaning towards Vehicle 1, as I like the more aggressive body kit on the M-Sport package, but I was a little surprised how muted the impact was on black. With the Sport, I'm giving up the body kit and the steering wheel, but gaining HUD, some red stitching, and a more attractive interior. Oh and parallel parking but I'll probably never use that. So now leaning towards Vehicle 2

No MSport no buy.

The steering wheel is on the MSport's is amazing, also, if you haven't had a HUD previously you'll get over not having it on this car. Only way I could see it being an issue is if your current car has one.

Whichever you choose, selling price should be below invoice based on overall inventory.. Also check wheel setups. You may or may not want summer tires. The Msport might possibly have that?

You have the NAV listed on car 1 but not car 2, but have HUD on car 2?

Sounds like you already made up your mind, but I'd get M Sport. Best steering wheel ever.

The NAV is included in the technology package on car 2 (also included in the package is the HUD). On Car 1, the NAV as added a-la-carte at a savings to the whole tech package

Oh, far from it. I'm flip flopping...continuing to justify car 1 or 2 in my head for various nonsensical reasons. I'm going back in on Tuesday so have a day or two to make up my mind.

Also perhaps important to note that because it has x-drive the M Sport package doesn't modify the suspension, which is why DHP is kind of necessary

I have an Msport on order, but only drove a sport before deciding. How is the steering wheel better besides the thickness and the wrapping?

I'd say it basically boils down to how much you think you'd enjoy the HUD. If you really want that the difference between the steering wheels is not enough to forgo the HUD.

I just took delivery of a 428xi GC M Sport this week, you will absolutely love it! Like a couple of people already mentioned, the steering wheel alone is worth going with the M Sport. Congrats on your purchase whichever way you go.

M-Sport wins my bet. I do enjoy having the HUD as well, but if I had to choose, I'd take the M-Sport over the HUD for sure.

Personally, i like the first car but would add hud and m sport brakes, and maybe change the interior leather color.

What do you think about going 35i and removing xdrive and premium package to keep cost similar and getting the option 704 suspension?

I like that idea a lot, but I do think the AWD system will come in handy during the winter months for me personally. I spend some time in upstate CT near the MA border, and the winter road conditions can get hairy. There's a steep unpaved driveway up to the house there that gets plowed but I don't feel great about a RWD car making it up. Now I know I could get winter tires put on but.....i'm lazy haha. At the end of the day, the wifey wants AWD, especially since we're coming form a larger SUV.
