4 series gets new engine next year. Not sure when it gets LCI?

I like the new headlights on the 340i a lot. Really helps the front of the car. However, I like the LEDs on the 4 series more. I might be biased though since I just ordered one.

Power bump is nice but if you have an MPPK it's nothing to be that jealous over.

This isnt the LCI, thats the pre-LCI m3 with the adaptive LED headlights. Not sure if the adaptive LED option will look the same or if it will also have the open halos like the std LED. US versions most likely wont even get the adaptive option since adaptive lights are illegal due to stupid outdated laws. The adaptive portion is coded off for the US market even though we have to pay the same $1900 to upgrade to LED from std xenons.

Sub 5.0 0-60. Remember when that used to be considered super fast? Now it's sub 4.0.

Did you watch the video?

There is most definitely an LCI 3 series in addition to the M3

Wow that's a lot of change for just a refresh! Those LEDs will look bad ass on my M4 wats most interesting to me though is the updated steering and suspension. Will the LCI feel completely different than the last year f30?

There's also an LCI blue F30 shown in that video. If you stop the video at 19 seconds, you'll see it.

Was talking about the blue F30 in the video also.

Agreed. The pre-LCI F30 definitely needed a few more hours in the "interior design" department in Munich.

Well the M4 and the M3 (which has the same front end as the M4) both already have LED headlights. Maybe they'll get updated when the 4-series LCI hits, but I wouldn't count on it.
Yeh I was talking about the new design. I really hope it gets it as I'm waiting for the M4 LCI.

Hm, can't decide if I like those taillights or not.
Headlights are cool! Front bumper on regular versions looks better too.
A bit disappointed that they didn't change anything about the m sport kit though.

What I can't wait to read about is what the new engines feel and sound like!
The new b57 is rated a little bit less powerful than the N55 on the m235i, the 340i is heavier than the m235i and yet their claimed acceleration figures are the same. This b57 is probably as underrated as ever.

While the reduce slip during 8AT shifts sounds really good, the wider ratios sounds like a step backward from high performance.
Aren't the gear ratios shortened in Sport mode?

Here in Germany an immensely high percentage of all sold 3-series are company cars. And companys usually want to keep the cost down, so most of those are halogen.
Which is EXACTLY why xenon should be standard! All us who doesn't have a big list of options to tick would love the "true BMW look"

Completely new springs and dampers... Why wouldn't it feel different?

Gear ratios are determined by hardware and do not change with driving modes.

You seem to be under the illusion that the base price wouldn't change with Xenon lighting included. Also consider the cost of replacing a Xenon/Active Light Control housing compared to a halogen when an accident happens.

I agree and maybe my wording is exaggerated, but I think the current leds look better than the LCI with that horizontal led bar.
Exactly. And they're "rings" after all, so how can they now be open... The LED's on the F30, just 3 years ago, were already a new design that was starting to go, just so slightly, away from the iconic corona rings. Just enough to freshen the look and give it a modern edge. Now they're not even partially squared off rings, they're not rings at all.. I'm not usually one to harp on tradition, I embrace and prefer change. But BMW roundels, corona rings, and kidney grills should always be unmistakably BMW, not gimmicky for the sake of changing something you damn near just changed yesterday.

The 3ers largest market Europe buy many entry 3er with Halogen as do the many municipal, government and Polizei fleets for their less complex technology to accommodate additional extra equipment as well as the maintenance simplicity.

Understood. Thank you for the reply sir. That makes a lot of sense now. We don't have that issue stateside, so it's a matter of different perspective.
