Value of a 335i MSport
Hi guys,
My current car is coming to the end of it's lease and I'm exploring the options of either selling and upgrading to F80 M3 or refinancing for another year or two. Ideally, I'd like to sell and upgrade to the M3 and therefore would like to know what I can get for my car. I noticed there is another thread below valuing another 335i around the 30-35k mark, however due to the extensive range of options available I thought I'd start a new thread. Car is a 2013 F30 335i MSport + MPPK with 105000kms in Estoril Blue Serviced to BMW schedule up to 70,000kms by previous owner Serviced every 10,000kms since then using Castrol Edge oil + genuine BMW parts All recalls (including airbags) have been completed by BMW dealerships in Sydney & Melbourne M-Adaptive Suspension M-Brakes HUD Sunroof Black leather HK sound Professional Nav BMW OEM Carbon + Alcantara Pack (carbon rear spoiler, carbon steering wheel insert, alcantara steering wheel, alcantara + carbon dash trim with M Performance branding, carbon centre console, carbon + alcantara shift boot, alcantara hand brake boot) BMW OEM front lip + side skirt extensions BMW 405M 20" rims with Michellin Pilot Sport 4S tyres 95% tread In addition to the above factory options, the following performance upgrades have been installed since I've owned the car (retaining the original parts): BMW M-Performance LSD purchased new from BMW Monterey (California, US) - about 10,000kms since installed H&R Super Sport lowering springs Wagner EVO2 Comp intercooler Wagner catted downpipe MHD 2+ tune In addition to knowing how much it may be worth, I would like to know if it would be better returning it to stock and if there is any interest for any of the upgrades listed above? Thanks in advance Michael |

You will shocked at how much it is worth, unfortunately!
I’d be guessing $20K trade and maybe up to $30K private sale. All the options and add ons mean very little to a trade so you will get a better return if you return the car to Standard. |

I was just offered $28K trade in for my standard 2013 335i Msport with HUD, Metallic, comfort access & sunroof. Very good condition besides some gutter rash and tyres getting a bit low. About 70,000 km on the clock.
Trade-in independent of new car deal I am guessing mid 30's achievable privately with new tyres and some tidy up of wheels. PS - get a M3/4

Redbook says about 25k for trade and 30k for private sale and I think that's about right. You'd definitely make more money parting it out but what is your time worth?

Thanks for the responses guys. Definately food for thought.
I'm more than happy to take the time and remove the parts I've had installed if there is interest in them. Might post up an EOI shortly once I work out what I'm going to do. |

I was down at my local BMW dealer the other day and heard there are great deals on F80 M3s ATM. I was very tempted by a San Marino Blue. Obviously they wanting to clear them for the G series.
Just out of curiosity is the depreciation circa $10k per year greater than the leas payments per year or is it the other way around. I'm assuming the lease payments are always greater on a $100k+ car over a 5 year term but good way to free up cash and maybe the difference isn't great once you factor in the massive depreciation on prestige cars. |

My dealer offered me 30k for my 2013 335i M-Sport (27,000 km, in very good condition) in Nov 2019.
What I liked about the deal was that the offer stands until I pick up my G20 M340i in Mar/Apr 2020. I’m not sure I would get much more for it by selling privately. It has been suggested I could get up to 5k more, but do I want to go through the hassle of selling privately with the potential of damage from possible joyriders? As I live in two houses, 100 km apart, this makes a private sale a little more awkward for me.

I'd be happy with 30k trade in, however based on the offers I've received from some local dealers (non BMW) I'm now going down the selling privately path. I'm sure if I took it into a BMW dealership to trade against a M3/M4 I'd get a better offer, but I can't seem to find one with the options I want at a local BMW dealership. |

Really?
I get Red Book - $29K wholesale, $34,600 retail – based on 75K KM and very good condition - at least for my options
