Ive updated the unit trough factory settings and I got a " upload successfull" screen that I did not get before.
I will compare the two files just to see what the difference was...

The annoying usb permission request:
It looks like we can solve the problem with Tasker + Autoinput plugin

The idea is to let Tasker click on "OK" automatically when usb permission request pop up.

Who has Tasker and can try it?

it's with a shortcut I see but I think it's possible to trigger it by means of opening the dab app itself, but just only at first start.

Another cool idea is to use Tasker to remap Menu tile to other apps.

Problem:
menu tiles are bound to stock apps.

Solution:
e.g. Music menu tile will open stock music player.

1. Create Tasker Profile for stock music app
2. Create Task 1: open spotify
3. Create Task 2: close stock music app

life is so simple with Tasker on the whitelist

Once in about 20 hours of use? Don't know if the battery was low at the time.

Well, I use native functionality of the unit all the time. But no crash or reboots with latest android update.

What is the difference between Autoplay and Autokit?

Wacky007, good timing for your question. I had been meaning to try this for a long time and finally spent some time doing it last night. It works, sort of.
I have it set up to:

1. Monitor startup of Tasker (this automates the running of the task at startup, so that the unit effectively boots into Carplay)
2. Open the bluetooth app
3. Wait 3 seconds
4. Kill the bluetooth app. (I set this up, because opening and closing this app returns steering wheel track selection functionality back to Carplay)
5. Open Autoplay
6. Wait 10 seconds
7. Click on "OK" on the USB permissions dialog

So, when I say it sort of works, here are the issues:

• You must set both Tasker and AutoInput to use Accessibility Services in Android settings. In limited testing, I have found that when the unit is shutdown, it sometimes disables the Accessibility setting for the apps, but not always. In about 4 full reboots, it has done it twice and preserved the setting twice. Not sure why. On the advice of the Internet, I also turned off battery optimization for these apps. That setting seems to persist, but did not have an effect on the predictability of whether or not Accessibility access would be disabled.
• During my last boot routine, Accessibility was disabled for both apps, but Tasker did its part anyway. AutoInput, however, cannot press the USB permission button without it.
• When everything has worked properly, the biggest issue is that it takes a really long time. My unit takes about :50 secs to boot up normally, it's maybe another minute for Tasker to load and start the routine, and then another 20 seconds to land in Carplay.
• Finally, the "kill" action in Tasker does not fully close the app, so the Bluetooth open->wait-> kill routine doesn't really work. I can live without this now that I can use the Idrive knob to change tracks, so I'll probably just remove it unless I can find an effective solution.

I feel so close to the experience I want and somehow still far away. At this point, if I could 1) speed loading way up, and 2) get Android to simply preserve the settings I'm setting, I'd be golden.

Suffice it to say, this is preliminary findings. I'm going to keep fiddling with it.

I just wanted to post the exact same experience with accessibility options with trying the dab pop-up for permission. I saw something about creating a hardware-allowed whitelist on android side but I'm way too noob to perform such programming...

Has anybody else noticed this difference in software between Autoplay and Autokit you can change Oem icon to the make of your car in Autokit apk settings which you can't do in Autoplay apk

I have an F32 with HK & combox like yours and my sound in the android side is pretty much the same as Bmw side. I adjusted the aux output to 2 bars above half. And it sounds great. I adjusted the equalizer to even sound better. What I noticed was that if your sound is rally bad with aux sometimes its the cable. It happened to me one time when I was still using aux to play music with my iphone at first it sounded really bad until I tried wiggling the cable input and eventually just replaced it with a better cable
