Adjusting my headlights

I hit a deer last week, car just got looked at today, not sure when it will go in for repairs.

Damage looks to be driver's door and fender.

I suspect the front took some of the hit, but it's not visible.

My driver's headlight looks normal when viewing from the front, but when they come on it points up dramatically. They are the laser LEDs that self-level when you turn the car on. I suspect it will be replaced.

Can they be adjusted if they are that far off?

Thanks

Laser LEDs? On an F3x?
But to answer your question, there is a manual adjustment screw at the top of the headlights, just search YT and you'll find many vids. Clockwise is down and vv...

im_an_alien, you were right, looks like it should be an easy adjustment. I found the up / down screw, it definitely turns; however, there is no effect on the lights.

The car displays an error for daytime running light malfunction, those are not working. I suspect the light assembly will be replaced, but wanted to get the lights so that I am not blinding others until I get it fixed.

There are two adjustment screws on top - one that is a lateral adjustment, and one that is vertical. I'm not 100% sure about the LED version, but with my pre-LCI adaptive HID headlights, the screw closer to the outside of the headlight was for lateral adjustment, and the screw closer to the inside of the headlight was for vertical aim.

There is a scenario where if the horizontal alignment is off, then no matter how much you turn the vertical screw, it will not move.

This youtube vid has a great demonstration of that:

Given that you hit a deer, it's possible the force could've also knocked the horizontal alignment off. So, you could try playing with that a little as well.

Goodluck!

Clearly I'm not smart enough to own or operate a screwdriver. I found the up / down adjustment, but the video indicates, you may need to adjust the left / right to get the light unstuck.

I can't find the left / right on for my lights.

Hopefully it will be in the shop in a couple of weeks and they can fix / replace it.

If the inclusion of horizontal adjustment does not comply with specifications in the law, it's usually removed or access is prevented by covering the adjuster as it is on the F3x in the USA. This is best done with the proper tools, so ask the shop if they have an optical aimer and someone qualified to actually use it. If not, then you can do it yourself but you should strictly follow the guide found on Daniel Stern's website.

Thanks, the daytime running lights are out, the rest of them point up dramatically. I'll let the shop deal with it.
