What type of oil should I get next?
I used castrol 5w30 high mileage last time and wondering if I should try something new. I’m currently tuned on BM3 OTS map Stage 2H and wondering if I should go to 5w40 and if I should change to castrol oil to liquid moly, and suggestions?

1. Ask in the correct forum: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=437
2. Be prepared to get so many 'expert' opinions that you'll consider buying stock in armchair manufacturers. |

You can read the literally thousands of posts on this exact same topic (in the section linked above), or, if you are going to skip doing your own research, if you are using vegetable oil try canola oil, or vice versa.

I prefer peanut oil myself. If it makes those damn Five Guys fries taste so good, can't be that bad.

Tuners usually recommend 5w40 either Motul or Liqui Moly.
If you prefer to stay in the 5w30 weight, Motul has a BMW LL01-FE specific oil that has a sheering index almost as high as most 5w40 oils. Hope this helps |
