Using the acuvue dailyís from vision express.

Funnily enough Iíve found my vision has improved significantly using contact lenses as opposed to glasses.

Interested in ortho k as not heard of that method before and I have quite significant astigmatism
For Ortho K see Doctor Trusit Dave who owns Eyetech in Coventry, he fitted my first lens 20 years ago and lectures all over the world. Not far from you as well.

Can't you go laser and get ok results if you're just a bit short sighted?

Gets rid of one issue, then you can focus just on reading.

I'm hoping bionic cornea implants become a thing before my near sight starts going to crap.

You can do I suppose. Just a bit of a wimp myself.

Also a query I put to an optometrist friend of mine - if the surgery is so good why do opticians wear glasses or lenses?

You can get irreversible problems with laser treatment, it works for most people but it's a risk.

Main issue that's always put me off is that your night vision can sometime be massively affected. So when I know that lenses work perfectly for me I've always just stuck with them.

Friend of mine in his mid 60's has both his lenses removed and exchanged for a new lens, the same as cataract treatment. Cost him £3k, but perfect visit now, both distance and near. Bit drastic, but he is really happy with it.

Worth every penny if it works, good for him glad it's all good.

Acuvue lenses are an exception product, made by the most exceptional company in the world. They only employ exceptionally talented people I hear - all are truly exceptional human beings.
Get a discount?
Yep!

Don't know what or how it works though!

Wow that sounds impressive.

I've never had laser because they can't get the result as close as contacts. Plus as others have noted there are risks and I'm a wimp too.

Glasses are best for accuracy but then you get all the horrible distortions etc.

This lens replacement must be fairly new? Definitely something I hope becomes common place and risk free by the time I'm needing it!

Its commonplace now, I think he went to one one the well-known names and had the work done at Manchester.
