trouble adjusting Kw v1s
Howdy again yall, I’ve been meaning to adjust my ride height on my 340i with the kw v1s since they are pretty much at max drop, but when I go to turn the rear passenger side the whole assembly turns with it (perch spring and purple adjuster). I seen some people recommend jb weld the collar up top a little, also seen to get a c clamp and attach to black perch to stop it from spinning, and lastly seen people recommending taking bolts off control arm and dropping it to just take the whole spring out . Just wanted to see if any of yall had luck with these techniques before trying them! Thanks and if yall are thinking about getting the kw v1s just know they are a PITA to adjust, I now wish I went with the v2 or v3

Remote diagnostics are what they are ... a few questions first:
- What was the mileage when KW V1 were installed? - What is the mileage now? - Any encounters with the road debris? - When did you notice the "whole assembly turning"? Any unusual sounds? - Was the installation performed by a shop with KW products experience? - Was wheel alignment performed after the installation? |

-Mileage now is 90k -Not any noticeable problems with rode debri before -no sounds when I’m trying to adjust the perch -installation was done at a euro shop don’t know specifically if they have done Les -wheel alignment done after yes and just got another one done about a week ago I’m starting to think it’s just a design flaw in the v1s as they want you to drop the control arm and take the spring off since it doesn’t have the hex underneath to put something in to stop from turning

I'm pretty sure you have to drop the control arms to adjust the ride height on the rear of our cars. That's how I've seen my shop do it. It's in the instructions as well:
"You have to remove the rear axle adjustment to correct the ride height" |

One easy solution is to buy an oil filter wrench. It is thin and large enough to grasp the coilover sleeve while you use the supplied wrench to turn the collar.
I remember the good ole days when coilover companies provided 2 wrenches (Bilstein still does!) |
